@docknives3792 Год назад
I was thinking the same, like is this foreshadowing? Cause it seems completely plausible now.
@neoqueto
@neoqueto Год назад
Actually it doesn't sound that crazy, Cameron is a busy dude, especially around now while he's promoting Avatar 2, but he's a down to earth guy, he has great respect for passionate people in the industry, he probably would be into this kind of stuff. Besides... This channel is a medium for like-minded people, we're all interested in VFX, we're probably all at least a little bit curious about that and other aspects of Avatar 2, so him appearing on the couch to promote it, to dissect the visual effects and cinematography of his newest film and perhaps older ones too makes quite a bit of sense.
@christianstoneroussesu4584
@christianstoneroussesu4584 Год назад
@@neoqueto it makes perfect sense... which is why that wouldn’t happen. At best James Cameron comes on the show as a guest a few years from now if corridor keeps gaining notoriety. But they won’t have a promotional spot because of industry gate keeping.
@for_fox_aches
@for_fox_aches Год назад
 @Christian Stone Roussesu Politics aside, I was just saying that it didn't *sound* crazy. Months or years make no matter, the fact that it's plausible now is huge when you consider that they are just a bunch of guys who decided to start a RU-vid channel.

Jim Cameron in the 80s was a MASTER of seamless in-camera VFX and that's why ALIENS holds up better than films even 10+ years after. The combo of animatronics, rear-projection in camera, stop-motion used strategically... all these different techniques work perfectly together to sell so much realism that most films completely fail to capture.

Thank you for giving some love to "The Frighteners"! An excellent film that so few people seem to know about.

I'm so glad they did reviewed The Frighteners I've been requesting they review it on their videos for ages. Their first movie doesn't look bad either it honestly reminds me of those random sci-fi/horror films that would show up on the SyFy channel mid 00's and now knowing the budget they were given I'm honestly more impressed with what they were able to pull off.

Oh man, The Frighteners is such a hidden gem. It's my 2nd favorite horror-comedy after Ghostbusters. Highly recommended. Also, I love that around 10:57, you can see the Reaper's face for a split second as it enters the car - and it looks great if you can manage to freeze-frame it.

The chair that guy uses to hit the It Follows ghost grows in size after he drops it. The replays make it SUPER noticeable that it hits the ground significantly farther in the background than he's standing, but it stays the same size

Before making Frightners, Jackson had to make Heavenly Creatures in wich he incorporated complex vfx scenes to imagine the characters fantasies. That film funded the start up of Weta Digital.

I remember being on a road trip with my family when I was a young boy. We wanted to watch a movie in the car, so we bought one at a gas station, and it was Dark Island. Had no idea yall made that movie. Small world.

Since you talked about the practical effects from Aliens and the sub-par CGI of Deep Blue Sea, I feel like it would have been good to speak about the shark animatronics from that movie, they're absolutely amazing, and can swim on their own.

The scene from Deep Blue Sea made me laugh so hard I couldn't take the movie seriously. It didn't look bad at the time, it was just funny as hell

I don't remember it looking that bad in the theatre, but at home on VHS, I remember laughing at it when you had time to pay attention.

I love the movie and it's the closest thing we got to a "Jaws" like movie experience. And because of how bad the SFX was, it was hard to take it seriously. But if you look past that, it's a pretty good movie!

The frighteners was one of my fav movies! I remember seeing "movie magic" on Discovery Channel and was blown by that movie. Also is awesome to see you react to reactions on your old movies. We kind of mistreat our process at learnings. I don't like seeing my old stuff, but people enjoys that things. That's mind-blowing and really cool.
