a few people have asked me about batteries on VHS-C so I figured I might as well help anyone with on of these cameras. here is an affiliate link to a battery and charger, battery: amzn.to/3raXXNt charger & chrarger: amzn.to/3KULxRC
Hey, nice vid! Well actually the older style VHS-C camcorders usually used 9.6V ni-cad/ni-mh batteries. Full-size VHS camcorders actually , well almost all of them used 12V batteries ... the most were PB and sometimes also Ni-CD... Aside from that, good explaining man!! Greetings from Holland!
hi, thank you for the video! i'am having trouble understanding the charge-discharge process with these batteries. i've been trying to get them charged but it just won't work. they are probably to old, like you said. I am just not sure wether it's the battery or the charger that doesn't work, a small light blink when i press the refresh button but that's it
It’s most likely the battery usually when these batteries sit for too long they end up not taking a charge anymore. You can find vhs-c batteries on Amazon though they are pretty cheap too.
Nice video man!! I wanted to know more about the charger that came if my camera, it is two sided, like one side has 2 prongs and the other has 3, is it supose two charge the both types of battery?
Did you buy a charger from Amazon? If it’s one of the original style chargers you should be able to slide the battery in on the 3 sided connectors and it will charge. If the charger light is blinking you might have be the battery in the opposite direction, the battery might be dead and no longer take a charge or you might be able to push reset on the charger when the battery is connected if you have a reset button.
@@brandoncameracollection I got a JVC gr-ax404 from my uncle, after reading so many manuals I found a closer model (gr-ax70eg) that comes if a similar charger, the manual said the blinking lights mean its chargind so I felt more confident to charge the original battery that came if it, and after like 8/9 minutes the "end" light appeared and I plugged the battery in the camcorder, but it lasted like the same amount on time recording. I don't know if I need to buy another one and there some other little issues I'm facing so if I am not bothering could I dm you on ista?
Hey sorry for getting back so late. So I would try putting some rubbing alcohol on a tooth brush and try scrubbing it off till it’s clean. Just keep a towel or something with you to clean the access stuff off as well and see if that works. You can always try a new battery too.
hey so i have an super old solid state CCD, Flying erase head VHS camera, it works as i tested it with a cable that has an adapter originaly used for computers but it worked on the vhs camera, buttttt i dont have a battery for the camera. do you know where i could find one??? its a Series LXI

So I believe I have found the right battery for you. VHS cameras had really 2 styles of battery from what I’ve seen. There’s ones that slide in the camera in the back side then there the ones that clip on the back of the camera which is what you have. So I found a website that still sells these batteries. It’s about $37 for it and I’m pretty positive it will fit. You can always email the website/ company if you have any questions. Just make sure you keep the battery charged. I bought a battery for my rca vhs camera and didn’t charge it for a while and it won’t take a charge now. Hope that helps 😊
