Yea I just did it on my valve cover and there are areas that look like grandmas skin I may have sprayed to close and or to much in one area I still have to wait for the paint to dry but I’ll probably have to start over if it looks shit

I just did my valve cover and had the same initial result. Did the 3 coats as instructed by some areas didn't wrinkle at all. Maybe I didn't lay enough down in those areas? I'm just going to leave it as is and call it a learning experience.

@@pedrorodrigueziii4859spray again in the areas thats not wrinkle, and heat it up with a heat gun for about 2-4mins and watch it wrinkle.

Did you ever use it on that old RCA? I came across this paint looking for something to repaint my old RCA 195a VoltOhmist VTVM I'm fixing up.

@@acestudioscouk-Ace-G0ACE To anyone looking for a paint for recreating that old wrinkle finish on electronics, this stuff recreates that old style finish perfectly!, (when it works, that is!) I found a can of black locally and painted the VTVM case. The stuff has a learning curve to it, and I started to get the feel for it right about when I used the last of the can in redoing different sections that I had messed up on. I stripped the case to bare metal and applied it following every instruction on the can, even the later section that seems to apply to touchup only has important instructions that apply regardless of whether you do a 4th coat or not. After doing the different direction coats and allowing the proper cure time between coats the top turned out absolutely perfect the first time but the sides and back had some issues with the wrinkle texture being very splotchy. After stripping the sides and back and repeating the process, I managed to get some better results experimenting with a heat gun like they did in the video. I found I could do the 3 coats one after the other with only a short break between them, then I would use the heat gun way back from the piece keeping it still and after about 5-10 seconds the paint would start to wrinkle and spread outwards. I think a hair dryer might actually work better for this since it has more airflow at a lower temperature that would help even out the finish. I could never quite get the sides and back as perfect as the top came out, but I bet I could if I had another can to try it one more time. The stuff was still soft after sitting overnight and I redid the sides the morning after. I put the case in the oven at 200F for an hour and all 4 sides cured nicely, so I do believe this step must be followed in order to cure the paint completely. hope this helps anyone out that may have troubles with this stuff!

This is interesting because I did a quick Google search for the grey sp205 and saw some insane prices too! One was about $18 but I wonder if it is actually in stock?

I would use a mild soap diluted in water with a detailing brush or if you don't have one, a regular paintbrush.

If it doesn’t wrinkle, you need to use thicker coats, i had the same issue only to find out that if the layers you spray aren’t thick enough, it won’t wrinkle.
