December 10, 2017 - In this video I demonstrate how I use my Viair 85P portable 12v air compressor. It is rated up to 60 PSI and uses a 12v power socket for power (need to have the vehicle running). It is available on Amazon:
www.amazon.com/dp/B0036E9VB6/...
If you need more than 60 PSI, there are other highly rated VIAIR portable air compressors available. However, the 85P plugs into a 12v power socket and the other ones need to be connected directly to a vehicle battery. The 85P comes with a couple of attachments for blowing up balls (soccer, basketballs, footballs, toys, etc) and a larger one for blowing up air mattresses, larger items that use the push-in valve deal. Can be used up to 60 PSI...so, most vehicles, bikes, and equipment should be fine with this unit. This unit has a nifty LED light, bag, accurate air pressure gauge, and is very lightweight. The only thing I don't like is that the hose and power cord is a little too short.
Here is the specs from Viair:
12 VOLT - 60PSI Max Working Pressure, engine must be running during use.
1.26CFM Free Flow @ 0 PSI
Portable air compressor powered by auxilliary power outlet. (The 85P can only be used if your outlet is rated to 15 AMPS/180 Volts or more)
Easy to read tire pressure gauge mounted on the compressor. Super bright LED work light included.
Engine must be running when in use.

Great video! I forgot about a lot of those old shows. Nice wheels on the Chevy. I have 2 harbor freight 12v pumps that if U pack a lunch will inflate my truck tires to recommended 80 PSI. I also bought years ago a old 70s Caddy air rides system pump That thing is a beast $25. That co Viair makes some great pumps for sure. Thanks for sharing .

*Thanks. Stock rims/tire sizes. I made an error in this video...I said my tires are not quite 31". In actuality, they are 31.91" (275/55/R20). Oops. Digging your C5 Corvette work...man, please keep us informed how the sale goes. Hard work pays off!*

I plumbed in (2) tsunami air pumps on the flatbed I built for my truck. Constant on-board air. Those viar products are really good, too

*Neat! This Viar is good for most...only goes up to 60 PSI*

Why it costs twice as much now? Its only from 3 years ago, not 30!?!

Cool review chris I’ve had one similar to this and used it all the time. But one day the 12v adapter melted while pumping up my tire. I just cut the cord and put alligator clips with a fuse on it and I just hook it up go the battery . Cool video as always buddy keep it up

*Melted? Oh no. Yeh, many of those 12v plug in's are crap. Found some 25a ones on eBay that are stout (old school)*

So where did the renegade valve stem cap disappear to yesterday ? I showed my work buddy how to view your vids. Another inquisitive viewer in the making. Getting ALL PUMPED UP ! J K

*It was sitting on the tire (where I left it!). Glad I found it. Thanks for the share to my channel...just having some fun, DIY projects, helping others, etc. Maybe help inspire others in their projects. Or at least, show them how "not" to do something! hahaaa*

So all ends well. Guess it was difficult to spot a black cap on a black tire in a cramped space. Next year they will make caps with BLU TOOTH so you can track them. ;-) Have an industrious week ! J K

it is only 60 psi max because it is a higher CFM (Pumps more air faster) to fill the tire faster then the higher pressure pumps

Ive actually looked at those. I have a cheesy battery pack/air pump made by black and decker. I was born in 60 and survived the 70,s with several brain cells left undamaged by drugs and loud concerts.

*The 70's were huge for large open-air (and loud) concerts. I was a little too young to go the really big ones. Lots of chemical enhancement back then*
