The leveling valve does have an adjustment, but you have to adjust it when you install it. There is a pin that comes in the box that you use to set the height initially. You hook up the air lines and set the height. Then you take out the pin and mount the valve. Look up the correct height online. If the height measures right but your driveshaft is still off then you have bad bushings or bad springs.
It has a small amount of adjustment. If you loosen up the 2 bolts on the back of the valve, you can angle it up or down a wee bit. However, you should still get the adjustment bar as there are multiple other scenarios where adjusting the height of your drive's can help you in a pinch
HEY BROTHER THANK YOU FOR A IDEA YOU GAVE ME I EANNA RAISE MY SUSPENSION TO LINE UP TIRES TO THE CHASSIS.....GOD BLESS YOU I TO HAVE A FRIGHTSHAKER.. 👍🇺🇸🇲🇽
Hey buddy I work on trucks I saw ur vid. If your air bag valve don't work right ur bed will be inflating and deflating as you drive. It will bust up that drive shaft up. If u got vibration at 40mph plus. Might need shaft balance . But could be a hole bunch of stuff from hubs to tires to bushings .. good luck. #Truck city in lake bluff
You may need a high speed alignment. They actually balance the whole front assembly with your drums and pads. Instead of just the rim and tire. It’s works.
I think i may need that.. high speed balance on the front wheels, and drums. Any advice on who to get to do it.. which shop? Im in soCal if that may help. Tia
I’m from south Texas and some their is only one shop that does it and they are family owned. Mainly like in my dash and seats my floor. One thing people usually miss is the rear bushing (4 bushings) and torque arms.
I’m going to try this as well I get vibrations at 45-53 mph 2013 Freightliner I balanced my front wheels it made a slight difference but vibration is still there I will take part off weld 3/8 longer put it back on a test it out I have all tools to do it I will report back with results.
@@moonlight2373 Up date tried exactly what dude said made no difference at all still shakes at exact speeds 45-53mph took my 2013 frieghtliner cascadia to a local shop come to find out it ended up being a passenger side leaf spring bushing was torn and worn apart. The shop offer to change all leaf spring bushings for 1200$ I will report back once I replace them to see if the shaking problem or resolved.
I would never just set a leveler valve where I thought was best. You are correct that the valve should only be set to the manufacturers recomended measuring height.
Your heart is good, but the cutting and welding advice is not so much. It is completely adjustable so you can raise and lower your air suspension. Check out Busted Knuckle by Diesel Dr regarding leveling your air ride.
Sounds like what I’m experiencing I feel everything I go across and the wind seems extremely rough causing the equipment to look all out wack with the trailer bouncing around
I've seen alot of videos like this, I don't like that a oem part would need to be altered. Or are you doing it because you don't want to buy a new one?
You can adjust it without cutting the bar. also you want the power drive "tilted" a bit when unloaded. Just curious, how long after this video did you have to replace the ujoint? :)
Man. I’ve been having the same issue.. only after putting new drives on. Did you recently replace the drives? Was this happening before replacing them?
You better fix that air leak first, the longer bar will break the leveling valve at the time your frame went down on air the bar will push up the leveling bar arm, and you can get a damaged valve!
I'm in a 2005 Freightliner Century classic and I'm having a vibration problem. Do you think I should buy the part that he speaking about from Amazon to have it put on my truck?
Hey wassup ma man could you please tell me at what MPH your truck used to vibrating ? I got 2017 Freightliner cascadia evolution well I had some air leak on quick connector fittings the one which goes to air leveling valve and the other right down the air bag but I did fix the air leaks so now no more air leaks well when I drive about 66,67,68,69 my rear drive axle vibrating as soon I got to 70,71,75 it’s just goes away well yesterday I set up my air valve leveling on 3x14 and I had a 16k weight load it’s was driving so smooth and after I drop off my load get another one which was btw 20k 25k weitgh it’s stared doing the same thing I’m really confused I don’t feel any shaking or vibrating on my steer only on my passenger sit shakes a lit bit and my rear drive axle on that MPH that I mentioned Sr please let me know I m really appreciate your time Thanks a lot 🙏 Be safe !
Did you find the solution? What helped me was to adjust the leveling valve using the same original rod, just moving the two bolts of the valve. What it is very important is to check the height of the airbags. When they are too high, they will cause a bad alignment of the drive shaft and that is the cause of the vibration at certain speeds and it is on the passenger side. The right heigh should be 2 inches and 3/8 between the axle stop and the U bolt. The adjustment should be done without any weight in a flat area. It doesn’t take more than 20 minutes, it’s free and you only need a 7/16 wrench and 2 wrenches of 1/2 inch. And something like a socket or piece of wood that is 2 3/8
Did your hood wiggle left and right at 45 mph and your left spotter mirror on your hood was wiggling up and down and was your mud flap hanger on your driver side jumping up and down?. and the vibration was coming through your steering wheel???
18 wheelers aren’t 18 wheelers without exhaust smoke stacks. I’m a 90s person I noticed now 18 wheelers don’t have exhaust stacks anymore. The employees that builds 18 wheelers needs to stop listening to their bosses if their bosses are saying we are gonna not put exhaust stacks on 18 wheelers anymore blah blah. Employees need to stand up and don’t be afraid of bosses
This is bs, no cheap fix at all. Dont deceived your self, replace your shocks if they are older than a one year, and the truck will ride smooth. No shock can survive more than a year, and use only Sascs, no Monroe or yellow garbage.
