Music is a universal, human concept, shared here as a performance and an inspiring experience with the audience through vibration transference.
Talented guitarist, singer-songwriter, and frontman for the internationally-renowned band The Barr Brothers, Brad Barr is an American-born musician who calls Montreal his home since 2005.
A main headliner at the 2015 Montreal Jazz Festival, he will perform there again this year with his band, along with other fellow musicians. With resolutely poetic lyrics and harmonious folk sounds, his music draws from the blues which, in his own words, is a human concept that exists in almost every culture.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Keep "failing" beautifully as you do. As a singer songwriter myself you have been an inspiration for me. Thank you for your honesty, creativity and wonderful songs.

I bought three front row seat tickets today (my two sons and me) to see Brad Barr at Le Gesù in the Montréal Jazz Festival. Can't wait, and here's why. In the middle passage we're hearing Son House in 1928, or McKinley Morganfield/Muddy Waters in 1941, the blessed melding of voice and slide. He closes with an ode to Montréal, home to him and his brother for the past fifteen years. A gifted player with a very wise mind.

Eh, everything Brad Barr is involved in is great, but I still prefer The Slip to TBB.

Reminds me of the soundscape from the game The Last of Us, scored by Gustavo Santaolalla. Just amazing.

Ha, I was talking to the owner of The Haven not too long ago about Matt Murphys.. I would've loved to be a part of that time. Crazy boston kids.

Anyone know the make of the first guitar he plays? Brad, maybe you could tell me? Hey I think it’s a square neck, classical tuners, and small body guitar. I have one almost exactly, even the logo, but my logo is hard to read. Any ideas?
