@@oceanhome2023 It's about time someone brought some intelligence to the right. Btw, only his followers have heard of this guy, so no he's as much as a "threat" as you are. Only in your sad limited mind. 😂 😂😂
@@taunteratwill1787 Only the left values something as trivial as individual intelligence. Do you have any idea how insignificant to the history of civilization one persons intelligence is? The West succeeded by allowing the functions of society to be carried out in the most efficient way possible, i.e through the diffuse decision making of the entire populous. Nothing has had a more destructive effect on the people of this world in the past century than the pronouncements of intellectuals. World War 1, World War 2, Vietnam and the aftermath of the US withdrawal, the blood of countless millions slain, caused in large part by the influence of intellectual movements such as fascism, communism, pacifism, etc.. Bertrand Russell, George Bernard Shaw, all of the French continental philosophers, H.G Wells, William James, John Dewey ALL advocated for disarmament, even if it meant surrendering to bloody murderous regimes.
@@lolguytiger45 You don't have to tell me that the Reps don't give a flying fuck about intelligence. Every fucking move they make clearly shows it. Very much in par with the Nazis in 1935. 😂
VDH is a national treasure. He brings in references from classical history, modern history and even RAH. He writes great, easy to read, books. I have several. They are written so anyone with a basic education can read them yet they contain humor and facts. To hell with those pushing everything he talked about; light a candle to our Constitutional Republic, Citizenship, The Rule of Law, Freedom, Liberty and Equality. Keep your powder dry and your faith in God my brothers and sisters we are living The Crazy Years.
This pandemic was arguably by design ( leak out of Wuhan) and as he said ‘ impermissible’ to mention it - this is how they pushed the closing down of millions of self employed tax paying American businesses . Then with open borders ( illegal Aliens allowed in) and identity politics : we got a divided weakly led country and with high tech and Hollywood and Academia allowed censureship and now demonize Western European culture whose forbears gave us the US Constitution. The fifth column went away !
I find myself saying that often - that he's a national treasure. I lost count of how many comments for his videos say the same. It's not a cliche; I think a lot of people just arrive at that conclusion on their own, and those words just come out!
Have you ever seen someone speak so knowledgeably and so eloquently about such complex contemporary issues without looking at their notes? It is a rare and wonderful skill, and VDH does it all the time.
@@cubansoy He and Thomas are awsome! It is just too bad that their voices are not heard like those of Congress and that both men have father time looking at them.
"Reporters are just young people who know nothing." Mr. Hanson, as someone who worked for 20 years in the newspaper business, I can tell you you don't know how right you are.
He couldn't say the Nov 2020 election is illegitimate. Like all those on the right, a fucking coward. And the left knows it ... so the right gets credit for emboldening evil. Way to go rationals. You lost civilization because you didn't want to get your hands dirty.
@@nsh1980 I'm glad someone gets it. "We're nicer and more polite so we will win in the end" There is no historical precedent to support that Republican mantra. There is plenty of evidence to disprove it though. I luv DJT but one of the first things he did upon taking office is give an interview and say, "Nah, we're not gonna prosecute Hillary. I won the Presidency so watch how my magnanimity brings us together as a nation and wins elections for republicans." All he (and Sessions/Barr) did was signal to the left that the right isn't up to the challenge. And now Trump may go to prison, because that's how the left rewards magnanimity.
God bless you Mr. Hanson. You are a shining light in the sea of darkness. Grateful for your intelligence. Looking forward to your new book. Citizenship. What a concept.
what a great lecture. the only thing i didn't like about it was that it ended too soon. i could've easily sat through another hour listening to Victor Davis Hansen talk about government bureaucracies and overreach, the importance and influence of classical Greek and Roman literature on shaping the West, and the correlation between property rights and civil liberties. great talk tho. really enjoyed it.
Victor Davis Hanson and Thomas Sowell are two of the most important American thinkers of the past 100 years. Their friendship is one of my favorite things in the world.
@@tomasina10 You may notice in videos that many speakers stand at a lectern with notes in front of them to refer to. In more tech-friendly environments, perhaps where presidents speak, there are 2-3 teleprompters to read from. VDH never pulls notes out of his pockets to look at.
IMO, having grown up in a farming and cattle investing family myself, VDH has a unique perspective compared to others because agriculture requires one to assemble a vast number of skill sets into one cause. Farmers must be businessmen, laborers, mechanics, electricians, accountants, welders, painters, weather experts, politicians, and really, people of faith. VDH is a national treasure.
Thank you for letting VDH talk to us. He presents information that we don't pay attention to daily in a plain text we can understand. His historical context let's him reference what is happening in relation to what has happened before.
Listen to this man! VDH’s “sober and judicious” insights are based on empirical data and “muscular” common sense. Thank you, sir. May God bless you and yours.
Citizenship requires accountability for one's own actions and there is expected a contribution of labor to the economy. Ask not what your country can do for you...
This is one of the most succinct, comprehensive and accurate synopsis of the current state of the republic citizens of the US are ever likely to hear. A recitation of factual history not just an opinion.
VDH has a unique way of dismantling and devastating liberal policies and arguments. I admire how he uses rhetorical questions in an argument while weaving in history of such mistakes in the past. I’d love to see him debate AOC or Bernie Sanders in current events. What a National Treasure
Intelligence isn't all that rare. Knowledge isn't all that rare either. Combine intelligence with knowledge, add wisdom and acumen, then you have something special. That describes Victor Davis Hanson.
Stunning analysis - spot on. And I simply LOVE the way he kept looking down at the podium from time to time as if he were checking his notes . . . only to remember he wasn't using any. :-)
Again well done Victor DH rip it up and bring it down I stand with you and T.Sowell .HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 🇺🇸 FROM SCOTLAND 🏴 U.K. 🇬🇧
I love VDH. Thanks for the content. Like VDH, I’m from the Central Valley of California (Fresno State) and it is very conservative and just needs to form a new state.
Thank You once again VDH !! I so appreciate how you share your true intellect. You do the reading that I an many other 99%ters can't get to during my 60+ hr work week, with the remaining time spent on sleep and survival duties. Laundry, shopping / food prep, and home and yard upkeep.
I wish he would mention The Great Compromise. Every time someone brings up how the dems want the Senate to be based on population, they never bring that up. They never say that same argument was discussed over two centuries ago and our Senate/House is the result.
The middle class has been losing ground for 40 years and until 2017 then they started to prosper again and then came the plague and they are wiped out once more.
Time for the states to break up. No more Federal funds. Each maintains its own backyard. Fed funds can continue for Military and Fed Lands / Parks. 10 years from now you'd see states like Texas crushing it and California would be pure anarchy. It's not a perfect answer, no answer ever is. Economics and life are all about choosing trade-offs.
