The scariest part of his game isn't the athleticism, the offense, or even his defense, it's easily his mental awareness. He has learned to stay disciplined with his assignments on both ends of the floor, even when he hasn't seen the ball for a play or two. That's scary. He seems unfazed by the hype, the comparisons, the drama of the league. He already looks to be a selfless player not exactly worried about stats over team success. His mental toughness is what makes him unique in that even if he gets injured or has injury issues (like Steph or Embiid), he will still become a superstar in this league (like Steph and Embiid). To add coach Pop to that mentality gives me cause to believe San Antonio has another dynasty on their hands.

For me building way too much muscle is what concerns me and what could potentially end up decreasing his longevity. It could just add unnecessary weight for an already ridiculously tall guy to handle, and imagine how much weight is being swung around from knee to knee in such a physical sport. He's already tall enough for anyone to even block him and barely has to jump to even dunk, paired with his great strides, good hand coordination and ball handling skills and he really doesn't need that much muscle. To a degree muscles are great but if bones and ligaments cant keep up then what even is the point.

The scariest part of his game is that he does all this so effortlessly. So far he barely looks like he's breaking a sweat out there.

I think the scariest part of his game is his most unpolished, the offense. He has a chance to be the most unstoppable iso player of all time. Modern day offensive engines are lebron types that usually need a closer to be paired with. Bron and kyrie, Giannis and Middleton, jokic and Murray, etc. Victor’s so scary bc I think he can do both. With his physical attributes, all it takes to develop a reliable offensive game is ungodly hours of training, which he’s shown he’s willing to put in. He’s just focused on defense, his body, and playing the game the “right way” first. Once he allows himself to be selfish and train for iso possessions, I think he has the foundation to acquire the skills of any player. Kareem’s sky hook, KD’s pull-up game, mj/Kobe mid post, Duncan’s ground bound post game, they’re all on the table. The scary part is, he only needs one to become unstoppable.

i think wemby’s slight frame in an NBA where low post players are very rare will actually help him stay healthy, i don’t think you can be bulky up top and be over 7’ without being easily injured

What's scary is if he becomes the second coming of Tim Duncan, with Pop's guidance. An uber tall and athletic big man with sound fundamentals on offense and defense but has modern skillsets.

Saying “at nearly 8 feet tall” is equivalent to saying “at nearly 7 feet tall” when talking about Anthony Edwards. He’s 7’4”. That degree of hyperbole is totally unnecessary

No one wants to bring up Kareem and Tim himself when bring up longevity

i was slightly skeptical with how good the kid actually was, but idc if it’s the preseason, how do you stop someone that can get to his spots that easily than shoot over you. than his quick reactions and reach on defense is ridiculous

the scariest part of wemby's game is obviously his defense. but also the fact he's only going to get better (barring injury), but also he's not even close to being utilized properly. wemby hasn't been getting a lot of boards because he's playing the 4. Just wait til they put him at center. with star talent around him. its over.
