Chet was slightly ahead in the first couple of months. Chet won the West Rookie of the Month for the first 2 months and then Wemby won the remaining 3. Brandon Miller also won the remaining 3 months losing out to Jaime for the first couple of months iirc. Chet should’ve never gotten himself injured in that Summer league - cost him a RotY.

He has to find the right guy to keep him free from health issues, Jordan Coleman has made him bulk up for sure, but I don’t think he has taken care of all much important things. Bulking up too much too fast is known to bring problems, that’s the main thing with the american system when developing athletes in the nba. Guillaume Alquier, Wemby’s personal trainer since years now in Mets92, Spurs, and this summer in the french team, has made it very clear: no stupid bulk up, just a well studied diet to get weight very lightly, and keeping on the things that made Wemby who he is now.

Fellow canadian here, never followed hockey much, but have watched NBA for many years. Victor Wembanyama is on the path of greatness, which few athletes have reached before. With a couple more years of experience under his belt, and once the spurs surround him with better players, they are going to be nearly unstoppable. He is a special player and a special human. Very rare. He's amazing.
