He's a walking highlight, if you see him live, you'll notice. He's the center of attention even when he isn't playing, It's just nuts to see someone like him. If he was a delivery man, will be CRAZY to see him delivering mail 🤣🤣
Wemby's a basketball glitch, he's litterally built for it and his brain absorbs informations/knowledge like a sponge + he trains like a maniac. Legend in the making 100%.
incredibly lucky to experience this franchise, David, Tim and now Wemby, absolute super stars of people and athletes. This was one of the worst seasons I've seen from the spurs, yet every close game was playoff level atmosphere
Man we are blessed to be spurs fans! I had completely convinced myself that after Tim Duncan, it would never get any better. That was the peak, and the era of the big man was over. I have NEVER been so happy and excited to have been SOOOOO wrong! GO SPURS GO!!!
Wemby really deserves to be "Rookie of the Year". Hopefully in the next few seasons, Wemby's performance at the San Antonio Spurs will be even better than this season.
He is a rookie embarrassing every team in the NBA. This is like a Wilt, Kareem thing. Pretty soon you better have a 7 foot guy on your team who can play or you will never win a championship 🏆
The way he plays takes me back to the days when basketball was way more about the facilitating of the ball and the magic of the way it was moved from player to player…Magic & Bird era but the way he is so good defensively as well on top of that brings in the elements of players like Shaq & Kareem. The way the team is able to just facilitate the ball to score against all odds to the point that the other team looks lost have the time shows that we are at least with Wemby it gives me hope that we have a player that has a level of basketball IQ to play the game the way the greats used to and is bringing it back to the mainstream and will hopefully mean others will also do the same.
This dude has potential to be the GOAT. I'm saying it now. He is quick, tall, versatile and has CRAZY defense. No one stopping him when he develops unless he ends up being injury prone.
Tbh, if he stays relatively healthy for 15ish years and just makes a reasonable about of improvement each year until his early 30s, I'm not sure it will even be a debate...
Thank you lord to give us this blessed kid he plays not to show he is the best just to show he loves playing and he played against his elders the cadors of the league his played against his generation and every time he showed his ability to play basketball simplicity length and versatility great kid
Yeah agree, however that’s not how the dpoy applied, the candidate needs to be in a team with a great defensive rating as well, meanwhile spurs is not one of it.
He had the best rookie season ever because he's so far above and beyond other rookies defensively that even though it wasn't the best offensive rookie season ever, it more than makes up for it.
Realistically, how do you guard a 7'4 center with the footwork of a post up big, the handles and court vision of a point guard, a silky smooth jumper, and the intensity and mentality of a future all time great? Wemby needs to be studied.
These highlights are just crazy, insane!😮 I'm dying to see next season, and as a Frenchman I can't wait to see him in the olympics this summer with the French team. It would be dope to see France vs USA in the finals like in Tokyo
Subscription-worthy video, thanks & done. Got to see his last game in person, and he can pretty much do whatever he wants whenever he wants. Just incredible to watch, and as a San Antonian and a Spurs fan, I can’t wait to see what he becomes. He’s already a great Spur with his humility/greatness combination, and to think this is only the beginning…. Just a great young man and a great player, and a joy to behold.
Thanks alot GH, nice mix. I was watching his ankles and it's clear they take heavy loads, with such long feet and limbs and relatively slender muscles to control them. I hope Victor takes care of them this summer and does some reinforcement exercises to strengthen his tendons and articulations, and is lower leg muscles to avoid collapse under acute constraints. It's apparently the weakest part of his physical preparation so far.
@@paulmccarter908 I've seen many interviews with Victor, but i guess not those you are refering to. Could you please explain what you mean, and tell me what interviews you are refering to ? Thank you.
I don't remember seeing a rookie separate himself form the rest of his class by this much, maybe ever. Even Lebron had Melo and it took some time before Lebron really separated himself from the pack. Wemby did that in Year ONE!
Wemby likes winning more than anyone in the entire league, ignore the losers who are like “why is he celebrating a bad season 🤓”, once the spurs are good, Wemby will do whatever it takes
@@HouseOfHockey14 Im pretty sure it was all related to that.... or Spurs being the spurs and finding a loophole for resting him. But he has never missed extended period of time at least.
It kinda makes me wonder how many people that didn't really watch much NBA enjoy watching now. If Victor, as many predict, is the future of the NBA, and there are more big men with that type of skillset, it sure is going to be a lot of fun to see.
This guy literally flies. Great ball control, defensive skills and can dunk from three, four meters. Besides his great long range shooting. If his legs do not crashes he can be a legend.
Man oh man, I hope him a healthy career, he will change the game of basketball. After lebron james retirement this guy here is gonna be the face of the whole league, the ticket seller. Love his game tho everything about it
Wembanyama is literally changing the game. In the first half of the season spurs players were having rough times understanding how different the catch area of the ball at wembanyamas plays is different from the entire league. You can throw a lob kinda anywhere and he will catch it with a big advantage over anyone in the league. His defence presence is absurd changing so many paint shots and i’m not even getting into the blocks of midranges and threes. Teams need to adjust their whole play when wembanyama is in or spurs defensive changes. This guy is crazy good and. DPOY and ROTY is robbed if they aint his.
