You got guys like Embiid, Jokic, Kat, KP (iffy one I know), KD all 7 footers, most not even from America, who can score from anywhere on the court. That's what makes the game and gives players so much space so people don't really think defense isn't being played, NO. Players are just better now and have more space to work with. Its easier to guard players when the court spacing is so tight and players just wanted to shoot middys and drive to the cup. There'd be 3 people in the paint on offense, no shit it looks like people were playing great defense when the offense is so limited
