Victoria Falls is located on the Zambezi River, the fourth largest river in Africa, which is also defining the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Victoria Falls is the only waterfall in the world with a length of more than a kilometer and a height of more than hundred meters. It is also considered to be the largest fall in the world.

@World Travel Guide point of correction David Livingstone did not DISCOVER the water falls, he was led there by the native people that lived near the falls. Rather he was the first white man to see it.

It's always funny when someone says "this European discovered this thing in 1855" when everyone who lived there knew about it since time immemorial.

Both Countries shared the Victoria Falls but you can only access the devil's pool on Zambian side. The largest part for that matter 1.5 km is in Zambia. 0.5 km in Zimbabwe. but the Falls can be seen better from the Zimbabwean side because Zimbabwe has a wider view of the Zambian side, while on the Zambian side you can actually feel & experience the falls if you get much closer to the Knife Edge Bridge in Zambia also Zambia has about 400 wetter falls hope you come in February to June Musi Oa Tunya will blow your mind lol 🇿🇲🇿🇼

Approximately two thirds of the Victoria Falls lies in Zimbabwe - so for the most comprehensive view of the falls Zimbabwe wins with its various viewpoints within the Victoria Falls National Park including the Devil's Cataract, Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls and well-named Rainbow Falls.

This has been the biggest misinformation piece for years. There is nothing like most of the view being accessible only from the Zimbabwe side. In fact when you are on the Zambian side you can see the whole Rainbow Falls which is just before Livingstone Island on the Zambian side. This is already 3/4 of the falls from the Eastern Cataract on the Zambian side. it is not accurate, therefore, to claim that one can only see most of it on the Zimbabwean side. The Eastern Cataract which is the longest stretch and about half of the Falls can hardly be seen from the Zimbabwean side. What is true, however, is that if one is only interested in seeing the falling curtain, there are 2 months in the year (October and November) during the dry season when this falling curtain is more pronounced on the Zimbabwean side because it is on the lower side of the Falls. For those who go to the Falls and visit it frequently, they will confirm that the Zambian side is the widest and most impressive to view outside the dry season - and hence taking the lions share of even this video.

The real local indigenous name for the falls is Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning "the smoke that thunders".

Unless you have forgotten or changed the meaning of the word discover, then we need to say truth as it should now told. Saying that David Livingston discovered the Victoria Falls comes from a place of European appropriation of stolen knowledges. The coming of European missionaries and colonisers marked the distortion of the African voice. Our history about when Dr. David Livingstone arrived in Zambia, tells us that he was taken to see the falls the local people called ‘Shungu na Mutitima’, which in Tongan means ‘Boiling water’ or ‘Mosi-o-Tunya’ in Lozi, meaning ‘the smoke that thunders’. To the contrary Eurocentric history indicates whose voice is presented in this video tells us that Dr. David Livingstone, ‘discovered’ the Victoria Falls and named it ‘Victoria Falls’, after Queen Victoria. A similar history is recorded in Australia’s Northern Territory where the giant monolith called Uluru in Aboriginal languages was renamed Ayers after Sir Henry Ayers. There are two problems here. Firstly, this view gives prominence to the European history of conquest and secondly, the silencing of the conquered indigenous voices from stating facts from their perspective. Secondly, Dr. David Livingstone renamed the falls after his queen of England. This act rendered local names inferior and useless. This simple illustration shows how European settlers distorted and disregarded the culture, the local names, local literacy and the voices of the Indigenous communities among which they settled. So to say that Dr Livingston discovered is great example of stolen knowledge and misrepresentation of facts.

Exactly my thought. The water that our ancestors has been using even before the Europeans came is not tagged "discovered" by them. I wish Africans will wake up and correct all these atrocities. That is how they said Mungo Park discovered river Niger in Nigeria, water that our ancestors have been using for years. Africans wake up!
