Nice review. I carry both. The SC lite I carry in my wallet and have done so for 8-9 years. The minichamp lite I've carried for about 15 years and have a small pocket clip attached to the key ring. I don't always carry the minichamp, but do so when I'm going to need a bottle cap opener (like at a BBQ). What I love about the SC lite is the magnifying glass and the straight pin. I use the magnifying glass all the time if I've forgotten my reading glasses and can't read the menu or bill at a restaurant. The straight pin has come in handy a number of times primarily to unplug a spray can, open a SIM card slot or unplug a glue tube. A couple of years ago, I kept track of how many times I typically need to use one of these SAK tools and I was surprised to see it average about 5 times a day over a 2 week period, more on the weekend.
It's good that you kept track of the usage. I found myself doing something similar. I wanted to make sure I was using my tools as much as possible. That's the point of owning them. I at least use the SC lite 4-5 times a week, more than anything, the tweezers and the scissors. Thanks for sharing 👍
4:00 for using the pen of the minichamp, you should open the nail file. I promise it's true, it is even in the manual (at least in Switzerland). I personally carry both with a farmer x (and a rescue tool, but this one is in my first aid kit), I put the toothpick of the minichamp in the swisscard. I carry the farmer x and the minichamp in my pocket (both secured to my belt) and the swisscard is in my wallet, I use the blade for dirty work (as scraping glue or things like that), I changed the tweezer by the toothpick of the minichamp, like that I have it if I need it someday, the pen is for the day where the pen of the minichamp will be empty, it keep the pin and the magnifying glasse too, scissors have the same use as the blade and I keep the ruler in the case where I should draw a flat line or mesure something a little bit bigger than 3.5mm. ⚠️personal experience: if you are carrying a swisscard in your pouch often, you will probably broke it.
