But how well? Is it so much of a hassle you would rather use something else? If a non first responder kept one in his car, just in case, is it worth having?

@@thegeth4293 Very well. For breaking glass in an emergency it's very reliable. For sawing glass, not many tools around that can do it (although I never had saw glass myself, there are videos testing it) As for being worth it, up to you. IF you ever end up in an accident, have the tool, know what to do and is lucky enough to be in a position to use it, great to have. But that's a lot of ifs. Don't get me wrong, I carry one because in the off chance I need it, I rather have it. But I carry hoping to never need it.

1) the belt cutter is a far safer way to cut belt and clothes than the blade. 2)the glass breaker is really better for breaking glass than the flathead screwdriver. 3)breaking a car window requires protective equipment just like cutting the windshield. 4)you can have to cut the windshield if the car is on the side because you are the victim and your leg are too injuried for stand up or because you are the rescuer and you want to preserve the patient spine.

I would rather have had a “hook cutter” tool than a bottle opener (and have actually-on paper-designed one that’s the size of the bottle opener and that also would work as a screwdriver and a bottle opener too). @TheModernSurvivalist seem to criticize hook cutters, but for cutting clothes they are great. And the ability to cut clothes fast and easy is rather essential. With the tools included you either risk cutting the person (don’t use it that way, blade towards the person), or you can’t reach that far if cutting from the inside. The Leatherman Raptor is however a great complimentary with all (well…) the first responder tools the Victorinox doesn’t have Saw blades? Personally I’d rather see someone produce a “multi blade” switchblade tool that fits 3 removable saw blades… Shorter tiger saw blades or jigsaw blades. I have a Bosch handle where 3 such blades fits inside so you can exchange them. But not as folding blades. I find the saws too short on these multi tools and you can’t often exchange them (easily) if you have to treat them in some destructive way.

It isn't a survival tool, it is a first responder tool designed with firefighter, the windshield saw is necessary like the flathead screwdriver.
