Vid59 How to Build a Washer Cell 

Hi All, This method of building a HHO cell is correct. It's not the traditional version but it is simple and effective. I built one and got great results. Some of the comments being posted are not correct. You need Neutral plates for a HHO cell. The Neutral plates also produce gas. And yes 3 inch SS washers are hard to come by so try going on line and get them shipped. If you build this cell and it's not working your doing something incorrectly. Cheers

So. I really like this design and since you didn't write a material list.. I did it for you for others to read/screen shot. I'm definitely going to give the design a shot since it's easy to build and I'm new to this. 10 3" stainless washers 10 1-1/4" stainless washers 8 1" stainless washers 8 Nylon washers 3" Nylon bolt + Nut Shrink wrap for making water tight connections Stake on connectors (Disconnects) 3' 12 gauge stranded wire A fuse wouldn't be a bad idea. A 10 amp automotive fuse would work just fine and would only require two more stake ons and be put in line with the positive terminal. It would be out side of the water/gas. The stake ons would not have to be shrink wrapped. I didn't take notice if the voltage was specified. I would assume It's either 6 or 12 from say a car/power tools battery. I would think you could use an old PC power supply if you should have one lying around or cheaply available. Typically, they have 3 different voltage out puts (3.3V, 5V, 12V @ various amperages depending on wattage rating) Another thing to toy with is a variable resistor or the like to actuate the amount of gas being produced. @noahspurrier Honest answer... I built it from spare parts I had lying around from previous projects. I'll have to find the "self-sealing dual wall heat shrink tubing" you are talking about, because it sounds like the perfect solution.

@HHO4ALL have you performed a lpm test yet? I have the same design rigged up w/o the nylon bolt. I've used two zip ties. It seems just as tight as with a bolt , but i'm not getting the same effect visually. I can't find the 3" or longer nylon bolt here locally is the reason.

A bubbler is used as flashback protection, so if someone were to have another form of flashback protection, then a bubbler would not be needed. I'd recommend using a bubbler no matter what, because it filters/scrubs the gas and provides flashback protection.

Let me see if I can help you here. Take 1 Stainless Bolt whatever length you want. Put washer on bottom install slim nut. repeat until tired. You just made the Negative Pole. Now Take a bolt and start with a slim nut. Repeat again and you now have a Positive. Slide the 2 together at what ever gap you want depending on amount you want and chain as many as you want in a circle. Place in container and Connect all neg and all pos together out of solution. Done. Hope this helps.

i would love to see a HHO electrode that just uses your existing car window washer reservoir and ran off a solar panel and capacitor;)

if you don't mind whats your volage and amperage ? and this design is pretty dope. the way i attached the wires is i cut strips of stainless steel sheet metal drilled holes and fed them in so they touch the washers

instead of the connectors try soldering with silver solder might last longer....

Why do you use three different washer sizes for each metal layer? Is it a surface area thing? If so, why not use 3",1",3" instead of 1",3",1.25" as you used? Try using "self-sealing dual wall heat shrink tubing" instead of regular heat shrink tubing. This will keep water out of your zinc connections. The dual wall heat shrink has a thin layer of thermoplastic inside the tubing. The plastic is similar to the stuff in hot glue gun sticks. When you apply heat to shrink the tubing the glue layer

whats the point of using washers connected to neither negative nor positive ? Why do u use washers between negative and positive? they have no contact so they wont produce any gas ?

you made it that simple for watchers . but please complete the whole system with the bubble container ,then reservour an exit consumer gas ,for those who dont have ideas PLEASE BRO.

You could make a really nice one of these with a long tube of schedule 80 PVC. Sure you wouldn't have much to look at, but once you understand the process through this proof of concept, you don't need to look at it.

The - contact produces H2 and the + contact produces O. Normally these posts are separated so the H2 and O can be collected separately. Your design mixes the gasses. You don't get pure H2. Or am I missing something here?

Can you use copper

Has anyone tried using computer hard drive platters in lieu of stainless? I only ask as I have a fair amount of them and they are platted in platinum. I did some testing and got some impressive results.

Brass works very well

Maybe will be more eficcient to have a somekind of dynamic car braking to use that energy to generate HHO. Some time ago I read about the trivalent chromiun oxide released. This oxide is highly carcinogen. Dont know if it true. I use plain steel.

why do some units have a bubblier and some don't?

I will drill the washers and connect with a threaded bar and nuts and dont use the wire conectors inside the solution.

@heartrobot351 I haven't done an output test yet, but I'm guessing it isn't going to break any records. The zinc connectors will break down very quickly. With constant use you would be lucky if they would last one day. The problem is that they degrade at the connection first, and once that goes... your cell won't be receiving power anymore. Joebulatao had a good idea. He recommended using liquid electrical tape to seal the connectors. This should fix the problem. Thanks for watching.

Maybe try silver sawdering the wiers to the washers.

Where did you get the three wires that you put the quick disconnects on?

Has anyone tried other variables such as 1. different temperatures of water 2. different air preassures 3. Creating one in flowing water. 4. Vibrating the device. 5. Shooting a wave through it such as a high frequency sound wave?

Obviously Hydrogen can be used as a fuel, but why are you doing this when the electricity used to fracture the liquid is more than the energy of the hydrogen?
