Nickolias , they need to see if there's other people complaining about him ... she did one Foster rust he could have done several ... and other things that a good cop wouldn't do
Textbook? 😂😅😅 Armchair lawyer. D bag tried to insert himself into police business and got arrested for obstruction. Cop was receiving an award that day for arresting an even bigger scumbag.
They want to penalize the commissioners comments and not the dishonest officer....that's 🇺🇸 for ya. All these freedoms and non at the same time....convoluted much.
So cops can falsely arrest anybody and never suffer any consequences while I got to run around with the charge STILL on my record even though it’s dropped. The mayor is looking to reprimand the victim while the tyrant gets off with an award. This is the problem in Amerikkka. If this way of handling shit doesn’t end the bullshit won’t either and will always drown us out.
Recording was not really the issue. He was instructed to step back. His refusal got him arrested for obstruction. Now he's a charlatan politician trying to label it as "false arrest" since he beat the rap. Al Capone and John Gotti had entire careers of being "falsely arrested." 😅
Idc. if I was on the side of the street on the ground with my life being threatened against nature. I wouldn't want someone recording me. I get It. The person had a right to do so. But this dude is a commissioner an should have also understood this. A right an a respect is learned the same way. The commissioner disrespected that victim. While the officer disrespected the commissioners rights. Maybe to you reading this I seem unreasonable. But if I was that victim. I would have thank that cop. Cmon now you ain't victim here. But dont we all pretty much say get off the phone an help. Maybe I didn't see the whole video. But if the commissioner started recording after everything is said an almost done. How would you feel if it was you on the ground. As I said I dont stand on no one's side considering that ain't me. They bot are in the wrong
this comments a year old, but I still have to comment. He was falsely arrested for a crime he didn't commit and the officer lied on his report... either you're just slow or a child, but a cop on an ego trip doesn't just have the right to do something illegal because he feels like it. The actual victim here did nothing illegal or morally wrong that can be seen in this video whereas the cop broke numerous laws and clearly had his ego bruised when the man didn't comply because he wasn't legally required to.
@@masonbabcock4785 I have no idea if the cop actually lied or what he lied about but saying it's morally right to record some injured guy on the ground and then trying to justify it with your own personal bs like it's for his protection or some shit is just pathetic... honestly what was the point of recording these people it's not like he's a journalist or they're doing anything wrong/suspicious literally just to poke his nose in the situation in the hopes causing them to do something wrong or catching them or even worse for his own amusement people are taking their right record everything to far until they lose it and punish everyone with a law saying we can't record police anymore
@@jaybay3494 lmao how is it pathetic to care enough about a stranger to record an incident with the police in case things turn violent? Police have been caught multiple times turning off body cams before encounters so the person could have been worried about that. What's pathetic is assuming that every person is a piece of shit who tries to provoke cops. I'm not saying he didn't or did do that all I'm saying is it's pretty clear that the person arrested did absolutely nothing illegal and was arrested. Therefore nothing else is relevant. That's all there is to it, it was 100 % within his rights, but I can guarantee that you won't care about the actual facts you'll just find another reason to victim blame.
@@jaybay3494 I agree with you it's fucking stupid to film someone suffering. I would be pissed off if I found out someone was filming me laying on the ground after I had an accident.
Why is it so hard for someone to just mind their own business you keep walking and there’s no problems. Seems like he wanted to bait an arrest but at the end of the day he shouldn’t have been arrested. Easily avoidable on his end in the first place he didn’t add anything of value to that situation
Mike Gelin behaving like the problem not the solution. Why not respect the damn victim lying on the ground injured. See what type of aid you can render vs throwing a camera in his face at a vulnerable time and just because something may or may not be illegal doesn't mean it's appropriate to do. Police ask me to back up I back the fuck up. Thats it plain and simple he didn't even have a dog in this fight.
You did this same argument of "be nice and don't record" instead of looking at the false arrest and lying on the police report on The Young Turks video on this. Lol
@@acecandle3917 I never said the police was correct in arresting him but if someone came to your job and got in your face filming while you were making hot dogs I would understand why you may overreact. Not saying it's correct for you to overreact but I would understand as a person I would respect your booth allow you to make all the hot dogs you want.. 🌭 But we do agree that the Deputy overreacted. and that is a risk you run when you test people's patience at work.
@@acecandle3917 the guy is a piece of shit. I bet he got his feelings hurt when the cop was telling what to do. It's obvious he still holds a grudge 4 years later.
@@cnunez002 You are overreacting about someone filming other people. If it was me lying there on the ground. I don't care if someone filmed me. Oh boy you have some issue. Get over it.
I hold him accountable did they hold a police officer accountable for false arrest no they did not and did the police embarrass him in public and have a history of a wreck behind him now so what goes around comes around now he publicly embarrassing and it’s probably not the first time that you’ve done it so it should be fired because he probably is working at another place doing the same thing
I think the actions of Mike Gelin during the ceremony shows how little he cares about official duties, however I do believe the officer could have handled the situation better. Although does Gelin have any connections to the victim or was he just recording to be nosy.
Lol who cares if he's recording. I think this is great he spoke up. And official duties are not celebration meetings. Everyone does those, it's for recognition not official duties
It doesn't matter why he was recording. Maybe if more people were nosy there wouldn't have been such a strong need for police bodycams. The fact that he was told to stop and the cop lied on the report saying he kept walking up on him, is the problem.
Good for you I’m proud the cop publicly embarrass him so why not the same back to him this man has to walk around with a track record and explain why he was arrested or people looking at him getting arrested that’s embarrassing and in the public so what goes around comes around so now he’s probably embarrassed and the cop should be fired instead he get transferred to do it to someone else again and most likely black person he’s a racist cop like he said he’s a bad cop check on what he’s doing now I a bet you will find out that he has done this again
Another standard jerk absorbing time from the Officer. I wouldn’t want a weirdo in close distance to my firearm, at my back side, while tending to a crime scene. As I figured the arrest was qualified but the lazy DA didn’t think it worth the effort to prosecute. Hence his “false arrest” comment is libel and I hope the Officer pursues a financial remedy from this zealot.
Just because you “don’t want” someone doing something doesn’t mean you get to arrest them. The man was on public property, not interfering with the officers or situation, and legally filming public servants.
I love all the "experts" in the comment section that "know" this was a "false arrest." Not one of you was there, and not one of you know the details cause you weren't there. But somehow you just know it was a "false arrest." Funny, we haven't heard the Deputy's side of things, but hey, he's a Cop therefore he's "crooked." Fucking Clowns, SMH.
@@jaysmith3563 So, you think you're an expert on what happened based on a 15 sec video? And, me pointing this out "makes no sense?" If a Cop tells you to back away from his scene, he has every right to do so. If he has to take the time to tell you to move, and you refuse, you're breaking the law. . .So much for "no probable cause."
@@Colstonewall You’re literally an idiot you don’t have to be an expert to know the law. An officer cannot demand someone to back away from a crime scene unless there is crime scene tape up. Also, he was on private property the officer had no authority over this man.
@@christophercannata9672 of course you have the right to record cops! No one is disputing that. You do not have the right to interfere with a police crime scene. He asked about the other people helping the victim (cops words "victim"). They looked like medical (off duty). Mike walked up like the cops were the ones that victimized the guy on the ground. Typical "freedom auditor" tactics.
@@trex9194 He’s a free American recording in public 🤷. They should put up crime tape if they want to control the scene not bully law abiding citizens. No words should’ve been said, just do your job.
While it wasnt illegal to video, it does show a lack of character and respect for your fellow human being. Someone was just badly assaulted and was lying on the ground awaiting an ambulance. This commissioner worry was to take his camera out and record that person, not to help him or try to solve a crime but for his own gratuitous happiness. Did he even ask about the victim, it was all to do with his ego. It probably should be an offence to record someone in a medically distressed state or in need of medical assistance for your own amusement
You’re incorrect on multiple fronts. Mike Gelin was one of the people who originally called emergency services to the scene. He was one of the first people trying to ensure this victim survived. And the recording was 100% his first amendment right to do so. He committed absolutely no crimes and was instead helping his fellow Americans. The cop on the other hand illegally arrested him without probable cause and lied on the police report. Those things are crimes. And instead of you to fight for justice for your fellow American against an out of control government you side with the government. Unbelievable, truly unbelievable. It’s unfortunate that such a large swath of America defends this.
@@roccocolella13 Not only was it a false arrest, it was a first amendment retaliatory arrest which is even worse. The officer not only didn’t have the legal authority to force Mr. gelin to stop recording or move (even though Mr. Gelin still did anyway), the officer went ahead and arrested him anyway without probable cause for engaging in constitutionally protected activity. Mr. Gelin was one of the one people who originally called emergency services for the man in the first place, by the way.
@@reflect. not wrong about the moral issue and the lack of character it shows. Would you record someone as they lay injured in their weakest position or would you be happy for it to happen to you. There is no reason to do it and shows a lack of decency. It would make me question his fitness for office.
