"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be filled." - Mt 5:6 EHV "Young men grow tired and become weary. Even strong men stumble and fall. 31 But those who wait for the Lord will receive new strength. They will lift up their wings and soar like eagles. They will run and not become weary. They will walk and not become tired." - Isaiah 40:30-31 "Seek good and not evil, so that you may live, and then it will be like this for you: The Lord, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you claim. 15 Hate evil and love good. Establish justice in the city gate. Perhaps the Lord, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph." - Amos 5:14-15 "For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. 12 It trains us to reject ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope, that is, the glorious appearance of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. 14 He gave himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are his own chosen people, eager to do good works." - Titus 2:11-14, see www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+5%3A6%2CIsaiah+40%3A30-31%2CAmos+5%3A14-15%2C+titus+2%3A11-14&version=EHV
@@clouds-rb9xt For a long time I knew from a historical perspective the orthodox had the greatest claim on the apostolic church, especially due to the pope's lineage. Knowing that Luther saw the Latin church as the true apostolic church when he died, but also seeing the outgrowth of protestant theology as it decays into hell also had me investigate the claims of the orthodox. I listened to the book rock and sand by Josiah Trenham after I had my objections to praying through the saints destroyed and that ultimately is what secured me on orthodoxy being the apostolic faith. Well that and the theology of Saint Athanasius of Alexandria. He's definitely going to be my patron saint for confirmation.
There's a saying attributed to St Athanasius (who died in 373), that goes like this: The road to Hell is paved with the skulls of priests, and the skulls of bishops are its signposts. This is a very old problem.
They tried to get a reformed pastor to do a video. "So, why should someone choose your church?" "The will of man is enslaved, so apart from a miracle of God, they can't."
"Oh my heck, we have so.many wonderful activities; quilting club, share your feelings club..." "Any men's activities?" "Those ARE the men's activities." Sadly, this is dead-on.
As a Catholic, I will say that if you know where to look, you can find Catholic parishes with a lot of the same zeal for liturgy and theology as the Confessional Lutherans - BUT... you also find a lot of the Rev Sue and Rev Razz flavor parishes too. The Good Lord will sort them out someday.
We have attended LCMS and Reformed churches. My wife told me the other day, "We Reformed are often referred to as the 'frozen chosen', but Lutherans are the 'loveless Lutherans'.
@@jakobi4971 there is always the ELCA if you don’t mind a lesbian woman “pastor” praying for more people to ride bicycles and choose meat substitutes all while telling you the Bible doesn’t say what it says and if it does they don’t follow that part. “Paul was the embodiment of the patriarchy and shouldn’t be considered scripture”-actual quote from an ELCA member.
"Great church for younger people in the 70-79 range..." Sadly a lot of churches are becoming this. Also, the so called "Christian" churches who never mention Christ or His work. Great satire :)
I grew up in the Lutheran Church of "Since we love God everything will be pain and suffering over your too short life until you die broken and unhappy", the church of "Everybody who disagrees with us is going to hell", the church of "you shouldn't even talk to anyone who doesn't go to our church", the church of "Since God loves us we must tell you you are wrong and going to hell" with a topping of "give the church all your money". You guessed it - LCMS from birth. Still one pastor whose life was actually changed by the love of Christ figured out you could be fully Lutheran, fully saved and fully happy all at the same time. Rev Ron Goodsman- thank you. I could never figure out how people having just received complete absolution through the sacrament could walk away looking like someone just forced them to eat two pounds of raw pigs butt. But I always believed I was in the right place. Just with the wrong people. Folks, if you are in a church that teaches the fully anointed gospel of Christ, that venerates the sacraments and historical confessions, that have ministers that know the difference between a declension and the defenders then be the joy - you already got the truth. Still LCMS - stioll shakin the tree for G-O-D. (I did that one for Chayce)
"If you're the type of person who can only craft an identity by setting himself up in opposition to someone else, we are definitely the church for you." Haha! Chesterton said, "the sign of a true religion is its ability to take a joke." Good for you guys! (Even if you aren't the true religion; Viva Christo Rey! Extra Ecclesium et Nulla Salus.)
2:00 "We've got a LOT of baggage." I daresay that's true for every tradition and denomination. It's just one of the wonderful consequences of bringing a bunch of sinful human beings together.
We won’t judge you; we won’t condemn you; we won’t reject you; we won’t hurt you; or save you....” should have ended with "...unless you are conservative, then yes, you got all those things"
I think, after only a couple of videos, you are my new favorite comedy channel. Time for a @LutheranSatire marathon. You had me at the devils Kenneth Copeland suit....
Ok I'll fill it in since Has left it out. "Come to my church where we baptize anyone who has made a decision to follow Christ. AND we fully put you down under the water! Even though we don't believe the water really does anything. But it's highly symbolic!" How's that? I do love my Baptist friends. Seriously. If we could close the gap on the sacraments, we'd almost be united.
@@TGuard00014 see, I told you we are almost united. Lutherans do great pot lucks. Pickles are the official vegetable to any Lutheran pot luck I've ever been to. Blessings;)
"...only craft an identity by setting himself up in opposition towards someone else, were definitely the church for you..." Uno momento Amigo, I'm already a member of the Churches of Christ and believe me...we got that covered!!!😜🤣
Man this was funny! What I like is that it seems to me that its not done in a mean spirited way, but gently pokes fun at the problems different Churches face. We all are human beings and we fall, but may the Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us sinners. God bless you!
A happy Reformation Day to everyone! I've been making sure to teach my non-Christian friend from Germany all about Luther and why he was so important, and what it has to do with the Gospel. Signed, your friendly Presbyterian. (PCA, NOT PCUSA! PCUSA is basically represented byRazzMaTazz Twinklespit in this video. LOL)
I don't have a lot of Congregations-related culture. Could someone explain what the Lutheran person is supposed to be the caricature of? BTW, great video.
He's a caricature of a confessional Lutheran. Sometimes our insistence on holding fast to scripture and our confessions (which in and of itself is a good thing) can come across as harsh.
Wrong, as an independent fundamental BAPTIST, I am a sold out, hell preaching, Bible teaching, Soul Winning, standard keeping Christian. Not just some charismatic/non-denominational
@That Lutheran Guy what is the Bible view? I believe baptism is by immersion and only a show of your faith and introduction into ministry, not a part of salvation I believe that the Lord's Supper is a time of remembrance of Christ's sacrifice on the cross for our sin that we may be saved. The juice is not turning the blood, and the bread doesn't turn into flesh.
LOL "Punishment Vacation." I know a Catholic music minister doing one of those right now. And PLEASE tell me that wasn't a pic of James Mallon in the Catholic role, otherwise some Canadian Catholics could be, well, slightly concerned.
LOVELY. Always excited to see an upload from you! Very nice job with that 80s style, RGB glitch aesthetic, always neat to see you try something new like that! Hilarious.
“Take a six month punishment vacation, then hop back on Twitter, say God has restored you like King David...” Oh hey, Pastor DriscollMacDonaldTchividjianPattersonFalwellMahaney. Fancy seeing you here.
@@kirjian www.washingtonian.com/2016/02/14/the-sex-abuse-scandal-that-devastated-a-suburban-megachurch-sovereign-grace-ministries/ Sovereign Grace Ministries has no soul.
@@kirjian I think it was something that happened with members of the congregation, but the church leaders knew about it and just played the victim blaming game and/or covered it up.
Very good video for Reformation. The more things change (false teachings) the more they stay the same (false teachings). Let's stand with Luther and keep our teachings Bible based and welcome all to hear the wonderful teachings that will lead to salvation.
"Hi, I'm a Presbyterian minister. I would give you reasons as to why you should choose my church, but since your nature is totally depraved and utterly enslaved to sin, you will always choose to reject coming to our church apart from divine intervention, and therefore it is pointless to try and persuade you through natural reason to come. Good day, I need to check on how the oats are fermenting for my homemade craft beer."
@Art Anson Paul said something about not doing things to upset those of weak faith because they are not ready for freedom from unnecessary restrictions. He was talking about diet but it applies.
@Art Anson I'm genuinely sorry you had such bad experiences with the reformed crowd. It is true that while we do talk a big game about Sola Scriptura, there are a number in our group who would rather spend their time doing intellectual flexing and lose the simplicity of the bible. Also, I have known some to focus so much on having the perfect Calvinistic doctrine, but so little on loving their brothers and sisters in Christ who may not see eye to eye with them. I have known whole churches to split because reformed pastors effectively kicked out anyone who wasn't a high Calvinist. This is not all compatible with Christian compassion. On behalf of the reformed crowd (though I am by no means the universal spokesman for them), I am really sorry people have hurt you and imposed rules of traditions on you as if they were rules of God. Furthermore, I hate how it has cause relational division in your family. I hope you can believe me when I say that we are not all that way. P.S. I love the song Jesus Loves the Little Children. Peace.
Well as a life long Nazarene I have a "Non-Denominational" pastor I listen to who is just as good as any Nazarene one I have heard. Not all non-denoms are bad but the exclusion factor does at times agitate people it seems.
This weird. I was just wondering when Lutheran Satire was going to come out with a new video. I was just looking up Lutheran Satire an hour before this came out
We need not get a big head (or be offended) that we’re better than these if our group was not called out. This just means we need to double our prayer time and study time; lest we fall ourselves.
So did you leave the watermark on Chase ironically? Or is there some kind of underlying meaning, as if to say I could have taken a picture of my own “Chase” but nah I just did a Google search because I was late to pick my kids up from soccer practice.
Idk about the US but in Canada Zoning designations are Bylaws, usually supported but Official Plan designations by which authority is delegated from the province. Not so fun fact from an Urban Planning student in uni.....
