I've said it before but Easter Eggs have to be the best part about being a developer, just hiding something in a game, seeing if anyone finds it, and when it goes unnoticed you can be cheeky and leave a hint or two, that kind of interaction with the playerbase just sounds really fun

Yes they hate it because they are working weeks for these easter eggs imagine you planning easter egg and coding in into the game in 1 month but some random guy enters the games files and find it with the easy way.
Some Easter eggs would be impossible to find without it. I think after a point, a Dev would just want the EE to be found, whether people dig the files for it or not.

Sweet Smokin' Jesus In A Birch Bark Canoe, thank you for the Timesplitters 2 leak. Hadn't heard of it. STILL the best multiplayer FPS I've ever come across. Monkey users should be thrown down a tall flight of stairs.
Me and my friend finished story mode just to see that there was a code for it anyway, lol. As a heads up, the first two playthroughs are the first half of the story told from two points of view, the third playthrough is the second half of the story and that's where it gets very different. After your third playthrough the Pods will ask you a couple of questions, if you say yes you get a bullet hell section before you get to watch the final cutscene, it's not unbeatable, just long, after you beat it you get asked if you want to help other players, say no, otherwise your save data gets deleted

nobody submitted the ddr/dancing stage: disney's rave thing? tl;dr so for 20 years or so since its release we mostly assumed there were only two difficulties for the steps, basic and trick. the US release ddr: disney mix added maniac as a third unlockable difficulty but it wasn't until this past couple weeks that someone discovered that the Japanese versions in the arcade and at home, could unlock maniac via a code. the arcade one is easy enough to do assuming you have operator menu access, but the home version code is probably going to take a few attempts to get down!!
A bit of a fun fact, on the very same tweet Matt Phillips revealed that the easter egg was gonna be available a lot sooner, as he gave it to a friend who he told to leak online. Unfortunately, nobody believed him, and it also led to his discord account getting banned. No, I'm not kidding.

Not sure if anyone find this too or consider this as an easter egg but if you play MGS3 Snake Eater and try to beat "The End", if you stay for too long on an area and use a sniper scope to look for him, later on he'll scare the crap outta you. This is not the clock cheat but something that scared the crap outta me when I try to beat that old guy 😂 Sadly I can't find any videos of that here on RU-vid or any articles about that on Google. Seems to be a hard to find easter egg, but I swear I do found that one!
Haha :D well I hope you can survive Homefront to get there as it doesn't have the best reviews, but personally while it's not great, it's still very playable. Should take you about 5 hours to get to the safe house where it's located.
Not related but, in the app game called KillItWithFire there is a picture frame in the closet on the first level that has the neighbor from “hello Neighbor”
Unfortunately, with the Timesplitters Easter egg, a majority of levels can’t be be beaten (or even started) due to the game crashing whenever a Timesplitter is spawned

Brings back in mind Day of the Tentacle with Maniac Mansion inside it, Ninja Gaiden Xbox (not the Black version unfortunately) with the NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy, and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena with Escape from Butcher Bay. However, only one game in Homefront: The Revolution is worth it, sadly.
Well, looks like gamers would buy the otherwise subpar Homefront: The Revolution so to finally play an embedded Timesplitters 2 inside the game. Shame Future Perfect is still out of reach... You dataminers are heroes, you know!

There's one that was discovered recently in Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the SNES. As everyone knows, Shin Akuma was unplayable by legit means... except not really. It turns out that 20 years later, a legitimate method was found. You need to beat Arcade Mode and claim the top score and enter KAJ as your initials. Once you're back on the Title screen, you need to hold L + X + Y + Start on a second controller until you see the character select screen. Now here, either player can select Akuma while holding Start and if done right, that player will be using Shin Akuma. I found this out while browsing the Cutting Room Floor.
First off, I'm a fan of your videos. I am however, starting to wonder how loose the definition of 'Easter Egg' can get... Again, no disrespect, but surely a code so obtuse it was only found via reverse engineering, wasn't meant to be found in the first place. Plus, my understanding of why it's called an 'easter egg', is because of it's namesake, i.e. it's meant to be hidden away, but ultimately found. Case and point: the Konami code wasn't a cheat code, just help for testing that wasn't removed in the final version.
Hey can you take a look at something for me on cyberpunk I found? After you hack an access point on a wall. The screen if u stand far enough away starts to flash images on it. But if u get to close they vanish. I did manage to make out two...the first has capital letters and says NOW_IN.. the other is a picture of the bottom half of a woman upside down frontwards and then backwards.. Weird right? I’ll keep trying to make out the rest.. but plz take a look
