Incredible, heartfelt video message of Walton Goggins about Tig and Venus, and the powerful effect it has had on him, personally. He even tears up a bit - it's obvious this meant a great deal to him.
pI loved The Shield and hated Shane Vendrell. So much that it tainted my view of Walton Goggins. It wasn't until Venus that I remembered what an actor he was. Phenomenal.
Hello ! I wanted to know if you had also completely recorded the Anarchy Afterword? Because I find it nowhere and living in the south of France the site of FX does not allow me to enter it ... I wanted to know the reaction of Charlie and Tommy after the message of our beautiful Venus / Walton and if They also loved Venus and her couple with Tig. I know that it is very old for you, but for me I'm a fan that for 3 months, I watched the series 2 times and I looped the scenes of Venus, I'm slightly crazy Haha, Is the first time it happens to me, I watch a lot of series but Soa is really the best, and Venus and Tig have taken my heart... So, i hope have an answer ! :')
The relationship between Tig and Venus, and Walton Goggins' portrayal of Venus was probably my favorite part of SOA, which is saying something, as there was so much to like about that show. Goggins and the superb writers managed to make Venus both funny and deeply moving, which was absolutely masterful and a wonder to watch. That character could so easily have been just a cliche and a joke -- she wasn't. I always find Goggins a scene stealer -- he is so charismatic and interesting -- but his work as Venus was simply outstanding in every way.
What a great actor i m so impressed w/ his role of Venus xxx Thank you for your wonderful job on SOA Walton Goggins, you are an inspiration in the acting world XD
***** OMG, we really do know about real acting when we see it. unfortunately i do not watch Jusitfied, but i knew him from previous work over the years, and on SOA he just blew me away, playing Venus, this man is just the "whole nine yards" in terms of talent, girl xd PS: Did you hear Jacqui is on full contract on Bold? Uhmmmm Not sure if i like that...
STILLDecibel Yes, I've heard. I guess it depends on what she'll be doing. Her last stint on B&B was a big disappointment to me. So I don't know what to think yet... Justified aired its very last episode a few days ago. If you are fan of WC you will definitely enjoy his work there as well. He plays a villain. I also enjoyed him on SoA and I really hope to see him soon on another show where he can show his great talents some more.
***** Thanks B; i m gonna have it a go, becuase he is just tremendous, i watch anything with him, i m just not big on Western genre... I know she was a disappointment to me too, why i m not sure why she is back, as a fan i do not want to see her charcter ruined as well and end up being disgusted, so far before she came back i had nice memories of her as i never watched the Leffy crap... I thought i would watch her on the new Hulu show Sunset Beach.,,,,:(((
Season 5 when Venus is first introduced (I believe she was actually name dropped in season 2 also) was something I didn't expect. When I first saw her I was like 'oh wow its Walton Goggins playing a woman' and i thought it was a one off but she became a character for the rest of the show and although there are jokes made which are very funny and not cheap but she is also handled with so much respect and grace which I don't think I've ever seen done before on a show of this calibre. Her and Tigs relationship really does become a thing of beauty and I didn't see 'man on man' love or 'man on trans' love I saw a man and his lady and that is because how the show and how the character's were written. So thank you to all involved in that development and thank you kurt sutter for being a master of character creation.
People just don't aprreciate great acting. They think because he played this role it makes him disgusting? Idiots. I love that Sutter who was one of the writers for The Shield. Used Shane's alias Cletus Van Dam on SOA as Venus Van Dam. That's great
One of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. The Shield Sons of Anarchy Justified Predators (Don't hate me, I liked it) Django Unchained The Hateful 8 He's a chameleon, and I can't wait to see more of him.
I just searched this site as I watching this specific scene right now. This character's dialogue is brilliant. It floats in the same realm where the words of Samuel Clemens and Tennessee Williams put theirs aloft. Brilliant writing and an amazing actor that not only pulled it off, but became the role in those moments.
The scene that Walton is talking about is definitely one of the greatest scenes in SOA. Walton and Kim were just amazing in that scene. So believable!!
Although a big part of me wishes they'd have used a trans woman for the role, because it's damn important for trans folks to get to tell their own stories, at the same time I absolutely adore this man...honestly, one of the most beautiful men on the planet also sexy as hell both in himself and as Venus. He did a great job of her character and this video shows how wonderful he is.
Also, it was huge for a trans character on such a macho show to be treated with the utmost class and dignity and had the same relationship storylines that all charaters have
I don't wanna get too political or go too deep, but I think that Venus was the perfect way to showcase representation in film. I am not at all opposed to people being seen and heard, but a lot of stuff today feels forced to me, and Venus on Sons just felt natural and real.
I am not truly much of a fan of Sons Of Anarchy. But, I am very much of a fan of the skills and dedication from actors who truly love what they’re doing. Don’t hate on me, but this show was over the top and not very believable. Real people from motorcycle clubs do not act as portrayed in this series. (I do understand that it wasn’t completely meant to be completely realistic and should be viewed as more artistic.) But, I absolutely LOVED the portrayal of Venus and Tig’s relationship. The incredible talent that Walton Goggins and Kim Coates showed during their scenes together made the entire series worth every second. It was such an inspirational performance and was exceptionally realistic. I would find myself laughing along with the characters, anxious for their characters, and even find myself crying with them. I’ve been a piddly little community theatre actor for the last 25 years in my hometown. I have “some” idea of what it takes to be able to portray persons along these lines. And I am completely in awe of Walton Goggins and his portrayal of such a beautiful character and the amazing job of Kim Coates in his performance as Tig. So, I can only thank the both of them for such a talented and beautiful performance. And to also thank Kurt Sutter for the inspirational writing he did in the creation of this couple he created.
jr.potter, if ur so disgusted by watching this great man play a rare and hard part maybe you should keep ur fucking mouth shut and keep that fat ass off the computer .
Goggins actually believes that this portrayl treats trans women with "dignity and respect?" Seriously? Because I would estimate that 99.9% of ACTUAL trans women would call bullshit on that.
