Some cool fan configurations that was shown on TFW, you can have Bigbit's fish head be a monster hand instead of the grey combiner hand, or Thousandkills tentacles be extensions of his arm mode for a crazy tentacle hand, and one where Thousandkills (in monster mode) sits on Poseiden's chest as a sort of new head.
I'd honestly buy a Scylla-colored Thousandkills with some minor retooling as a solo figure. Otherwise, I feel these are far too stylized to look like the very cartoony, toyetic BWII Seacons.
I knew it! I knew this was the last one on tfsource i kept staying on the fence about! Oh well. Truth be told peaugh, this guy selling out was the last nail in the coffin for my decision to buy the team or not. BUT THEN. As usual when i watch your vids it swayed me vack and now i done and scraped up the whole team... I have been subbed since...2007 iirc and you've swayed me on a lot of buys. To think, this week of vids may not have happened if i had gotten a substantial raise at work just a week sooner than i had :0
Nicely done, I have to consider the arm joint fix. I didn't realize the best method for the neck part swap was so... invasive. These guys are so great. The lack of purple is a pitty. Can you two-hand the gun? Quick Q: Ocean sword vs Oppenheimer? Personally, I love this combining blade to pieces.
I actually tore up half my thumbnail trying to work out Seawing's connection point. There's some kind of grease that they put on the sliding parts of these guys, and the connection points are hard enough to get out as it is. So as I was trying to squeeze it out of the gap in the back of the left, my thumb slipped down over the edge of it and bent off a big part of the nail. That hurt like hell, so fair warning to others. With that said, I agree with everything said here. This set is fantastic, and as these were my favorite combiners from G1, this set did not disappoint. Most of the figures are just FUN to transform, and not overly complicated. Slap the Reprolabel set on these guys that's out now and they just look phenomenal in any mode you want to display them in.
Looking back on reviews of these guys in light of the Selects Seacons...it's funny watching all the different configurations people go with. You could probably make an alignment chart out of it. (For the record: Skalor (right arm) Seawing (left arm) Tentakill (right arm) Nautilator (left arm) Overbite is always the gun)
That's gotta be the best torso transformation I've ever seen. Still, with zeta doing bigger combiners for so much less it's really hard to justify full price for this set.
My only gripe with this set is with most combiners and that's handling the weight and posing. Granted, this guy looks like he can stand straight well enough but it would have been nice to get a little sword action or target master hip-firing. I'll give them credit though, they made a good combiner who seems to hold himself well enough.
i am very hesitant, mainly the amount of kibble on this guy as a while prevents me form combining them or even buying them at all, but they are nicely priced on amazon sooooooooooooo.........
Dammit, I want one now, but my shelf space is little to nonexistant right now, and I've already decided my tax refund is going towards the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron this May. :'(
