In 1988, Chris Jasper sat down with Donnie Simpson on Video Soul to promote the release of his first solo album "Superbad" ... 27 years and 12 solo albums later, his messages are still the same! Enjoy!!!

CHRIS JASPER I love your album Superbad, the whole album is stellar. I love all of your work with The Isley brothers and Isley Jasper Isley . You're a multi-talent . I'm not surprised you are. I loved your music in Isley Jasper Isley especially Insatiable Woman that was my favorite song and I love that music video.
"Wow!" Video Soul. My all-time favorite afternoon music video show from back in the day. Mr. Donnie Simpson used to host Video Soul during my pre-teenage days growing up. Used to come on cable television daily on BET airing their best soul songs on television. Mr. Simpson might be doing radio shows and haven't seen Mr. Simpson on television in three years since the passing of R&B legend Miss Whitney Houston back in 2012.
✨ ADDN : Donnie referenced Stevie Wonder with Chris’ solo hit, SB, but if I’m being honest, Billy Preston’s keyboard 🎹 style came to MY mind when this originally aired… All 3, doing their own distinct thing(s) quite adeptly, recognized for their individuality; respectively. If I subscribed to a “bucket 🪣 list”, one of my top 10 would be to get this reply : “Hi She! Margie and I are so glad you’ve enjoyed my previous IB/IJI work as well as my solo…” -Chris. (Now, that’d be insanely cool ✊😎 and make my crazy day!) 😅 Best wishes, All! ✨
Mr Jasper .. you STILL be KILL'N it vocally and all! ... I do hope this message finds you and yours in great health, care and spirits - Cheers! ... your fan .. Beto in San Diego City of So'Calif
I love the song " Giving My All " on the Superbad Album! It reminds me of the Isleys .... Even though Enrie Isley didn't play the Guitar on the track it sounds like he did but Chris Jasper is a very talented musician and he can play great as well! Thank you the great music and God Bless.
Chris Jasper was truly and underrated and most important member of the Isley Brothers. For those who don’t know the history of the Isley Brothers, he was the Isleys. You look at albums and they say songs written by all the members of the group. That was just an arrangement. Chris wrote most of the songs, produced all the albums and handled the musical arrangements. Without Chris the Isleys would not have as successful as they were. If you look at all the Isley’s songs they never let sing lead on any songs. Personally, I think he has a better voice than Ronald. I think that was an ego thing with the older Isleys. Look at Caravan of Love, Ronald could never have sang that as well as Chris did. It would have been interesting to see how the Between the Sheets would have sound. Because that was supposed to be the the first Isley Jasper Isley album. And when they moved to IJI they didn’t miis a beat. His solo releases are well done. He’s had some very good Solo albums particularly the Deep Inside album. Everything on that is good. It’s just too bad that music has gone the direction it has or maybe Chris would be a bigger force within the industry.
Moving on from the Isley's was probably the best especially how Ernie just left IJI with no explanation and you were writing the majority of the songs for the Isley Brothers.

When you thought of IJI in their heyday, you heard of good RNB music, but all the women talked about Chris Jasper, how he looked, how sexy he was; noone spoke of the other brothers or commented on their looks. This may have been a problem for Ernie. He feels he works hard as a guitarist, most all guitarists want the "sexy" recognition. Ernie didn't get that, and I feel he was simply jealous. Other than that, it would have taken nothing for him to just sit down with Chris, before he left, and talked with him about how he felt about being in the group and what was bothering him. To up and leave with no explanation is childish and unacceptable.
This is the only man who could make sideburns sexy. His wife Margie is the lady who appeared with him on the music video " Insatiable Woman ". I always had a crush on Chris Jasper.
im sure you dont remember, but my cousin wanted to sample Caravan of Love for a album back in the days, and you gave him a quote for very high priced upfront fee lol,, cant deny tho, youre very Talented brother
