Video Tour of The Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia 

I have had the good fortune to stay at the GB semi-annually all my life (since the late 1960s), and I must say, you have captured the essence of this place. What a lovely and appreciative eye you have! Thank you for capturing this indescribable experience so well.

I have been visiting the Greenbrier for years and have seen many of the changes. It evolves with elegance and for many families it is the place to be for special occasions and for certain Holidays like July 4 and Christmas. It is a wonderful part of my life and I have many fond memories of the Greenbrier. I am planning my next trip now. Cannot wait to get a spa treatment and swim in the pool. I love it so much.

For me the most impressive aspect of being at The Greenbrier is the natural beauty that surrounds it.

I’m from Logan, WV& we really enjoyed our visits, especially the first one. I’m 78 & had never been there. If it isn’t snowing, I think it’s better to go in fall or spring. So extravagant, good service. It’s worth it. I’m glad we went

My uncle worked as an electrician there for many years until he retired. I had lunch there one time with my grandmother. Stunning.

I have had the pleasure of meeting one of the bellhops who has worked at The Greenbrier for more than 50 years. His brother also was a bellhop at The Greenbrier for many years.

The first time I went to The Greenbrier was in 1985 for a seniors golf tournament. One of the golfers I recall seeing was Peter Thomson who won the British Open five times.

Wow, the place is looking good. I haven't been there for years, but used to go all the time. Looks like things have been repaired and shined up a good bit since I was there. The guest rooms look much better. The public rooms look basically the same as I remember, but the colors may be more muted in some. I noticed the portrait of Princess Grace is still in the same room it always was. Some parts of the hotel have always reminded me of The Overlook Hotel from The Shining.

I'm fortunate enough to live 35 minutes away. Wv Strong

I live about an hour away. Used to go there when I was younger just to go to the game room & shoot pool....for free! There's also a bowling alley in there that I don't believe was free. Not sure about now but back then men had to wear a dress coat after 5pm & if you didn't have one they had loaners in the closet they'd let you borrow. There are also cottages on the property you can rent & I enjoyed staying in those much more than staying in the resort. Such a beautiful place.

The wallpaper is vintage Dorothy Draper/Carleton Varney now has her designs. She styled it her way back decades ago. The Cameo Ballroom isn't done Justice without a look at the chandelier. It's spectacular.

Actually, the only future for this place would be as a museum/hotel. Too costly to maintain...But it is a piece of American history...Take, say, .00005% of the money flushed down the toilet for the Iraq and Afghan wars, and you would have an operating budget.
