#1 Make sure you have electricity in your household #2 Ensure that you have an outlet in the wall #3 Make sure you plug in the chromebook, and not your cat
here's an idea...make a product that doesn't randomly fail to where you have to hold reset buttons to get it to work. You're pretty much telling me that your os is a a pos. For a second there, I though it was hardware... :P
THANK YOU SO MUCH YOUR’RE LITERALLY AN ANGEL😭😭 I was absolutely devastated that my chromebook wasn’t opening, I’m so glad it’s able to open now. Thank you so much again.
Plugging into a potato does the trick. The starch found within most waxy based potatoes cause an electron triggering effect almost instantly. Thus allowing your laptop to gain a solid charging portal. Most of us techies always have a poato laying around the desk (or close by) . ;) goodluck Dan (AKA) °••●◇CYBRghOstr◇●••°
Thanks. You just saved me a bunch of money. Wife bought this thing about a year ago from Best Buy. Didn't work. Best buy basically tried to charge it using a different charger then immediately said to me, well you might as well buy a new one because the repair will be at least $250. Came home, followed this tutorial, my chromebook turned on immediately. Fuck Geek Squad
Raymond, you just saved me a heap of worry as my main Chromebook simply would not turn on but your instructions did work. Thank you very much for your effort.
1. Unplug chrome book 2. open chromebook up 3. Watch out for the keyboard and touch pad ribbon cables, disconnect battery using plastic device. 4. Hold power button for 1 minute to discharge any capacitors. 5. plug battery back in 6. Regardless if the chromebook turns on or not, plug in your charger as usual and let it charge for a bit. Then to 'prevent' it, set up a wireless or a timed outlet, and charge the chromebook for about half an hour to an hour *every day*. I haven't had the problem since doing the charge cycles.... but it means the chromebook is unreliable -- and slowly kills the battery over time. What I'd love to do is have a physical switch to disconnect the battery from the motherboard without having to open the computer, this would allow quick fixes.
Update: has done it to me again, trying to boot it right after it’s charge cycle. Charged it all night and still had orange light, but turned on and battery is 100% 🤔 My best advice is to not buy chrome books until they become user-repair friendly. (E.g Ram upgrades, storage swap, battery, etc)
I did the hard reset for 10 seconds and im like uh no but then after 12 seconds my Chromebook turned on. this device is what im using that failed. Also when it turned on I felt the lights of the heavens coming over my head with the song that keeps going like hala luya.
Wow that refresh and power button technique really worked, like for the first time ever I’ve been given instructions on the internet that turned out to be successful, now I can finish this project 😅Thank you so much!!!!
I fell asleep watching Hulu on my sister’s new laptop and I woke up and it wasn’t charging or turning on!! I did your methods in the video! Thank you so much it worked the first try!!
Thank you so much. Your instructions worked! You saved me from making a very disgruntled phone call to my provider through which I ordered the chromebook. Thanks again!
When I put the charger in, the red light comes on, it turns on for a second and shows a dead battery, saying it needs to charge. I’ve been charging my chromebook for 3 days straight. I even used 2 different chargers that I KNOW work because I used them on my sister’s chromebook. I desperately need a fix, there’s so much college shit I need to do on there before my deadlines and I can’t afford to send it in. (Please don’t even suggest it, I need an actual fix).
I'm a year late, but try asking for another school laptop if the school can't fix ur computer, if your school doesn't have that kind of thing, check if it's the outlet. If that doesn't work, your computer probably needs attention on the little charger outlet or something Is broken.
Thanks a lot! I've got a Samsung Chromebook about a month ago for my online classes and yesterday my cat sat on it and fell between wall and bed. Was funny because my cat got stuck, jumped back into bed and acted like nothing happened but today Chromebook didn't turned on (Not funny anymore). Thought would have to buy another one but your video saved my pocket!! Thanks!!! 😁😁😁

None of these worked for me, but I left my chromebook in the charger for like 5 days and when I decided to just unplug it and throw it out it turned on
