When Karrine said that she was not miserable or bitter and Tyra said “I disagree with you” I was gobsmacked! How does Tyra feel right about telling someone what their feelings are in any given moment?! I feel that Tyra projected a lot of her own insecurities and misgivings onto other women. In Tyra’s small mind, she felt that even as a successful model she had a lot of unhappy moments. So, surely, a “low, video vixen” had to be unhappy/miserable too. I’ve been over Tyra for 20+ years and I’m happy to be seeing her veil pulled back after all this time.

What's interesting is when I read that book many moons ago, what stuck with me the most is her trauma as a child being raised by a jealous and hateful mother. I know first hand what it's like living with a mother that shows you no love, is jealous and is abusive. If I didn't have my dad, who knows how I would have turned out. This woman received ZERO empathy. I even recall my misogynistic ex trying to drag her or any woman in the industry for being "loose" and I told him about himself and the hypocrisy. Women will be so hard and unsympathetic to a fellow woman, but in clown like fashion show empathy and compassion towards a male that abuses them or others. It's gross and asinine.

I remember this time. Karrine had hip-hop in a chokehold with the announcement of her book coming out. I, myself, stood in line at Barnes n Nobles to get my hands on it and I read it in 2 days. A very good book but full of trauma. Those men used and abused her and I'm glad she was finally able to get something for it.

I read the book back then, and I'm glad I never shamed her... The fact that ppl attacked her in order to protect those grown industry men was male worshiping at its finest... I keep telling ppl that most promiscuous behavior stems from childhood abuse... I can't stand women like Tyra.....

The problem started when the video model became a force to be reckoned with. It was all good until these women had the power. Until people became more interested in her than in the artists’ videos she modeled in. People are upset that Karrine gained something from all of this. I’ve been to the Tyra banks show in NY Once and the way she changed her personality was pretty crazy to me at the time . When the cameras were on she was the Tyra you see on TV and when the cameras turned off she was so cold and not herself I was like damn she fake as phuck lmao .

It’s very sad for a young girl to get turned out as a child and then run through by multiple men after that. Every young lady that I know this happened to became promiscuous. Even Oprah said she was taken advantage of as a child, but her dad rescued her and took her out of her mom’s house. I read her book last year and unfortunately I could relate to some of the things she went through. I was abused by my mother and I was a victim of SA at a young age. My mom also was a victim of DA as well and I remember us constantly running from state to state to get away from her ex. I could have went down a dark path if it wasn’t for my grandma and my boyfriend ( who later came into my life in college ). I found myself crying while reading her story. I’m happy that she spoke her truth and exposed what was going on in the industry at that time. 😓

I got respect for Kareeine! I don’t judge her cause I was molested by my oldest brother and raped by my ex boyfriend. I was beaten by men. I was very promiscuous at 16 til 26 years of age. I kissed my blood cousin on the lips when I was 24. Had other cousins trying to come at me sexually. I spoke my truth about incest and my family attacked me. It’s crazy! My mom is narcissist. My dad emotionally unavailable. So I could relate to her in a way. I love her as a human being and look up to her for speaking her truth and holding her ground

I am 41, the older I get the more I understand. They always try to cancel the person that tells the truth. I believe her and Jaguar Wright!

Hopefully, some of her lessons are ones that people can take heed to. I hope Karrine has successfully transitioned into a healed individual and she has persevered through her horrific traumas.

I literally searched this earlier today after watching her interview w Tyra and looking up if you did a vid ab her since I already watched the Tyra one. What is the universe!

I honestly believe that Karrine slept with a guy that Tyra was seeing at the time (well, it is alleged). I can't remember his name, but I believe he was an athlete. Tyra was coming from a place of hate and bitterness with this interview clearly. It was clear as day, she had to have been seeing someone Karrine slept with. Growing up as a child like many others, I did admire Tyra for what's she's done in the modelling industry. She was one of the greats, we can't take that from her to this day. I still love her as a model, but Tyra had a very mean girl attribute to her. Now, looking back and a lot of us are really seeing her for who she was. I'm not really sure if she's changed or taken accountability for a lot of things she's done, but at least people aren't blind to it. Karrine was only speaking her truth and inviting her to that show. She should've given her a safe space to express herself, but she went out of her way to make her feel completely uncomfortable. That's trash behaviour, honestly 😒 ( im just getting to the part in the video where Karrine addressed Tyra's dating stories) smh!

Honestly I’m all about privacy and discretion is wealth BUT I respect, admire and recognize intelligence and good intentions: I believe Karrine to be an extremely intelligent, well spoken woman who saw herself in a situation, grabbed life by the horns, and ultimately took control of the deck she was given. She also became the aunt to many of us naïveté about masculine behaviors or if anything confirmed it.
