Author Kris Engelhardt has specialized in writing a series of books detailing the Beatles’ contributions for other artists-either as songwriters, performers or producers. Beginning with “Beatles Undercover” and “Deeper Under Cover,” his latest book updates his previous two books, plus picks up with the newer side projects since their releases! Ken asks Kris about several of the artists in recent years that the solo-Beatles have helped out, many of whom their fans might not be aware of, and there are some fascinating stories behind some of them! It was a blast to have this chat with Kris, and we hope to have him come on more often to discuss other Beatles & solo side projects! (Please note that Ken had a few audio problems with his mic cutting out during the show.)

ALL TOGETHER NOW, the Castleman-Podrazik book Ken mentions, set me off on shopping for records to which John, Paul, George, or Ringo contributed, especially when they gave songs to other recording artists. Thanks for this update, Kris; I look forward to reading your book. (P.S. to Ken and Kris: When they were new albums, I played PRESS TO PLAY and CHAOS AND CREATION IN THE BACKYARD constantly.)

Like others, All Together Now set me off on my quest to collect the Beatles as session players. I have both of Kris' earlier books (Beatles Undercover is falling apart from so much use) and have just bought this new one. I found this interview because I was looking for information on Eric Stewart's Do Not Bend CD to determine if Paul played on the version of A Code of Silence included with the bonus disc. I was searching to see if Kris had a website so I could ask him. And bam, up came this interview and the news that Kris has just published an update to Beatles Undercover. I do love the internet. Now to find out how many recordings I've missed since Further Undercover.

I'm actually trying to lineup a panel of people who can claim they saw the Beatles together, and each of individually. It's extremely hard to find people who were that lucky, but Kris was one of them, and he's invited to that show when it happens!
