The chain guy has the ability in game to steal enemies' ultimate attacks and sword guy has an ultimate to drop a giant magical sword ontop of another enemy dealing more damage based on how injured the enemy is. Meaning chaing guy was about to finish off sword guy. edit: Also can we talk about the random sorcerer barbarian randomly tackled xD. That moment was only there to give mage girl a staff.
The guys with chain-hands isn’t really a villain, he was a prisoner in the country they’re invading because in that country, Mages are discriminated and are sent to prison and get treated like shit. They do that to prevent another Rune War, a war that happened centuries ago that almost destroyed the world. The chain-hands guy(Sylas) teamed up with another faction to free his fellow mages and take down Demacia(the kingdom with the knights). Funny thing is the blonde girl is also a mage but it’s kept secret because she’s of royal blood, only his brother(guy with big sword) and some higher ups know this. You might wanna read the lore, they’re really good and friendly to those who don’t play the game since the lore is not connected the the LoL gameplay. Each character have atleast 1-10 paragraphs long, they have a site where you can read all he lore. Everything in this video happened in the recent lore updates. There are also comics if you don’t wanna read long paragraphs. Also they hire different animations studios, they usually don’t credit them.
@@BlackWACat If none of them are good guys, there's also no Villains. From Sylas' stand point, he's doing something good for his fellow mages. From Lux and Garen's pov, they're protecting their home. There's no heroes or villains here. To free the mages, Sylas needs to take down Demacia, and to prevent a rune war from happening, Demacia quarantined all mages unjustly.
The different colors are setting you up for Legends or Runeterra. They will match up with future products and stories so you will always have a good idea where in Runeterra you are and what factions are present. They are linking the settings to future product via color and composition. It is marketing at it's finest because you hardly realize what they are doing but you will remember it when you see future products.
@@whitelabrat Eh, don't know about that. Like, they've used colorcoding to show factions for a long ass time in LoL. The void has always been purple. Demacia has always been blue with gold and steel accents. Noxus has always been black and red. And i mean it just makes good sense if you have these various locations to have a common symbology to make people quickly understand who is aligned with what faction. They may have an increased focus on making people familiar with the various factions and strengthening the ties of characters to the factions, but they've always done it to some degree.
I like that in the first run through you were able to recognize that he copied Garen's execution sword towards the end. The chain wielder, Sylas' main feature is that he can steal the priority spell of just about every other champion and Garen's is a summoned sword.

Hey there! So first scene is in the border of Demacia (guys who hate magic) and Freljord (basically oozing with magic winterland). Knights are from Demacia and the main guy is Garen running from Sylas (chain guy). Sylas is from Demacia but he is a mage. He gets arrested and put in jail for 15 years. He breaks free. His chains are made from a Demacian stone named petricide that absorbs magic so he can’t use it. But his ability is to steal magic from what he touches so he learns to use that magic and break free and work with Freljordians against Demacia. The sister (light magic girl) is Lux (surprise). She always had to keep her magic hidden because she would get arrested. She and her brother are royals of demacia. Royals knew she is a mage but there is double standards for them. Sylas stops garens attack and absorbs the magic in his sword(he is muscle no brains and has no idea his sword has magic) and then remakes the sword in magic. In game Sylas’s ultimate ability is called hijack he selects a target enemy and takes their ultimate for his own use. He actually has a very good champion trailer. The colossus comes down from the sky later is Galio. He is made entirely from petricide. For Demacia to carry with them to wars to null the magic. Over the years galio absorbs so much magic it gives him life. He now only moves when there is magic around. The beam wakes him up and he uses the same ultimate in game called hero’s entrance where he flies in to the sky and comes down right on top of an ally to save them. That happens in the video. Then lux now out of the closet readies to use the ultimate final spark and roast those enemies but video ends. Explorer guy in the tomb is Ezreal finding an item in the game called tear of the goddess(he and the purple girl buys that item in the game 😅). This relic was the key to locking the voidlings (creatures from the void, only purpose is to consume and corrupt everything). So they break free. Kai’Sa is the purple girl. She fell into the void when she was a little girl but instead of dying she adapted to the environment learned to hunt and now wears a second symbiotic skin made from a void creature. Kai’Sa feeds the creature by hunting and the creature keeps her safe. Two girls in the Piltover are Caitlyn (the sheriff of piltover) and Vi (piltover enforcer). They are in the cell of Urgot (6 legs belly drill guy). Urgot is popular in Zaun(lower poorer parts of the city. Piltover and Zaun are parts of the same city but in Piltover lives the rich and in Zaun lives the poor the crime and the chem barons etc). His cult is trying to set him free. Urgot uses his ultimate called Fear beyond death where he shoots a drill from his belly impaling something. Things get scary when you drop below a health percentage. When you do he then reels the chains executing you in his meat grinder. Well that’s all from me hope you read this all. Thank you as always
Character tldr here Champions from the snowy scene (One of the strongholds of Demacia) Garen: The dude in armor with a big sword. He is from Demacia, his armor and sword are made out of materials that could absorb magic. Lux: The girl with a cape, also from Demacia, she is Garen's sister, and she is a mage. She has to hide her magic powers since Demacia as a country hates mages. Sylas: The dude with chains on his hands. He is ALSO from Demacia, a mage who got caught and imprisoned for a long time. Eventually he grew to understand the stone shackles and chains that was used to restrain him / absorb his magic to stop him from getting away has some magical properties and in the end he broke out, turned the chains into his weapons and started a revolution in Demacia. His quirk is that he could steal others' magic. (The sword Garen uses has absorbed countless other mages' magic, so Sylas could tap into those powers when he touches the sword) The three champions here had a very recent lore update about the whole incident, and about Sylas and Lux's relationship. The story is really good and you should check it out if you could, but if you simply don't want to read that much about lore, you could go watch Necrit's video on the lore summary. Galio: The giant stone thing that appears in the very end of the video, he is made out of the same material as Garen's sword and Sylas' Chains. He is a statue that only awakens when big battles involving mages happen near Demacia. He is built long ago for the purpose of countering mages. Champions from the technology themed scene (Piltover city) Caitlyn: The girl with the sniper. Her parents are rich inventors (scientists?) and doesn't want her to be a cop because its dangerous. But since she insists, they did their best to make the best gear and gadgets for her to ensure her safety in her work. VI: The pink hair girl with big gauntlets. Also a cop, her gauntlets are modified to be able to break down structures (walls, for instance) and reduce the pressure on the actual hands of the user. She is a friend of Caitlyn. Her full back story would be revealed in League of Legends' new animated series "Arcane", which would be coming out this year. Urgot: The Crab like guy with a gun as an arm. This guy was sent to a mine and was tortured there, but he gradually grew accustomed to the pain and suffering and claims that it made him stronger. He took over the mine from the previous owner (who was doing the torturing) and gathered a flock of followers who believed in his ideal that power could be gain through pain. They tried to take over the city near the mine (which is the city where Caitlyn and VI works as cops) but failed, Urgot got captured in the process. The scenes in the video is his followers trying to break him out of his prison. Champions from the tomb raider-ish scene (One of the vaults of the ancient empire "Shurima") Ezreal: The yellow hair guy. An adventurer who travels around the world seeking treasures / powerful artifacts. In this case he got into a vault of an old kingdom which no longer exists, and took the artifact that is stored there. Turns out the thing is there to seal a gate that opens to "The Void", which is a dangerous place that constantly tries to invade the world. So as he takes the artifact, the void starts to swarm out from the gate. Kai'sa: The purple girl that "looked like Alita battle angel". Back when she was a small girl, she accidentally got lured into the void. In the void she surprisingly didn't die, and as time passed she killed and merged with more and more void creatures, which you can see in the video (bodysuit and shoulder canons). In the process she lost most of her emotions. Currently her goal is to kill as much void monsters as possible and by mean time save people who is getting attacked by the creatures. So in the video, she happens to sense the void gate and got there via the same gate (since she could travel through the void) and saved Ezreal. btw she is also the main dancer in the KDA music video. You know, the one that has after images. In case you react to more of these cinematic videos from League of Legends, only this one is based on actual lore. The other ones may be somewhat related to the lore, but only this one is canon.

The three act structure is definitely there. I think a more classical way to put it would be: Act 1: Establish places, characters, motivations. Then introduce a conflict - there's a big problem, and we gotta do something about it. Act 2: The pinch. The climax. Our heroes attempt to solve the problem, but fail. The knight is bested, the cops are too late, the tomb raider is too selfish. Act 3: The heroes learn from their failures, find new strength, and overcome the problem. The knight can't fight alone, so his friends back him up. The tomb raider remembers he's supposed to not be a dick (I hate that guy). The cop remembers that she has hands. I really like this cinematic.
Did anyone else chuckle a bit when he said "Sorry but I don't know the names of these characters" on the shot with Vi, the character that literally has her name on her face?
At first when Sylas(The chained dude) blocked the sword of Garen you can see that his chains absorbs the magic of his sword. That's how he able to copy his sword.
I know this video is about 4 months old, but there's always the one scene that gets me hyped. When Vi (Female Rocky) loses her gauntlets, she has the scene where she looks at her wrapped hands and there is a deeper meaning behind it. Before she joined the force, she lived in a place called Zaun which is below a town called Piltover (Imagine a great divide of social status. Progressiveness vs Slums). There she was your basic punk character who would get into fights constantly in order to survive. So her looking at her first is a callback which is the core of her character. A lot of her lines in the game deal with punching. It's her life mantra not just her fighting style, so when she loses her Piltover Gauntlets, all she has left is her Zaun roots to survive.
I just want to say it now, im a really big fan of you and LoL and i want you to look at Asleep and Interns its a parody for Awaken and Warriors, but the way the guy puts the faces in some shots is really good, so i think because youre a Viedographer i think this should be a nice thing for you to watch, there are memes included btw!! Also i dont know if you watched it but there is a older Warriors and Get Jinxed, the Older Warriors is about the league players trying to go pro but is hard, and the Get Jinxed gets to look a little about the Jinx lore.

The people you see in this cinematic are: Garen (the dude with the sword), a demacian soldier who is part of both the Vanguard , an elite corps of the army, and the Crownguard Family, a family which acts as bodyguards for the king. Lux (girl with the hood at the beginning), Garens sister, who is a mage and therefore recently left the demacian capitol with other mages. Mages are treated like shit and most of the time even captured and sometimes executed in Demacia because of a big magic war that happened hundreds of years ago. Garen and her family know that she is a mage but Garen is the only one who supports her in being a mage, the other ones want her to surpress it. Why she is there and why no soldiers seem to have a problem with her using magic is yet unknown, maybe it is a "special force" under the command of Garen with only soldiers who don't hate mages. Urgot (big dude in the cage, with the arm cannon), a prisoner of Piltover who recently leaded a rebellion. His followers look up to him like some fanatic would look up to his god, so they want to release and rescue him from prison. His rebellion basically was build around the point that the strong should lead, not those with money. Ezreal (blond hair, energy bow), a young adventurer who currently travels through the desert of Shurima, searching for ancient artifacts. Here it seems that the artifact he found, the Tear of the Godess, powered some kind of prison or barrier for the voidlings. Sylas (chain guy), a mage born in Demacia who got imprisoned with a very young age and stayed imprisoned for 15 years. He used Lux to break out and then started a rebellion of mages in Demacia with the goal to obviously free the mages from their current condition of living. He still uses his chains because they are made out of Petricide, a magic absorbing material, and he can use the magic they absorb for himself. He has no other magic other than that and seeing magic in other people. In his recent story he travelled to Freljord, an ice region in the north, and found allies in the Winter's Claw, one fraction of the civil war currently happening in Freljord. Caitlyn (sniper lady) and Vi (fist lady), piltovan Sheriff and Sheriff assistant, they are the police of Piltover and the ones who captured Urgot in the first place. Kai'Sa (purple suit lady), despite being an ordinary human the suit she's wearing actually is a Voidborn. They are living in a symbiotic relationship with the suit enhancing her ablities and giving her abilities she did not have before like those purple rockets. She's fighting Voidborn and the Void wherever she can, the suit also presumably reacts to the presence of other voidborn, that's how she knew when to make an entrace here. Galio (big statue), made as a bullwark against magic, he is completely made out of Petricide. Once he stored enough magic he can freely move util he used up all of the stored energy. However, the last time he had enough magic to move before he met Lux was 100 years ago and since that time he was standing on a placa in the capitol of Demacia, so everyone knows the statue but only a few know he can actually move. Lux and Galio met in a story which plays years before the events you see here called "Flesh and Stone", where Lux accidentially awakens him and he explains to her that he always saw the spark of magic in her, even when she was only a baby, and that he likes her and her magic, which is a first for him, who was made to destroy magic. In this cinematic he once again got powered by Lux, this time however with a purpose.
Dragonheart i know the lore and all, but how can a stone gargoyle technically speak? He has no speaking organs, since he is technically fully made out of petricide.

I've seen league players react, I've seen non league players react, I've seen people talk during, I've seen people pause and talk, I've seen people wait till the end to comment, but I've never seen a reaction where a non league player actually pay attention to the whole thing, both while talking and while only watching. It's refreshing. Like others have stated, you're the only non league player who noticed that the one antagonist actually copied the sword. I didn't get heated once because you were talking through an important part and missing something or reading their twitch chat. I didn't think I would actually sit through all 18 minutes after you finished the initial watch but I was wrong. Keep up the good work.
That's funny. i always felt so disoriented while watching the cinamatic and did not understood why. Heard a few weeks ago in a reaction to a Overwatch cinematic first time about the 180 rule. And why it's in use. And now you bring it up again, and it all makes sense now :O
So (my comment will mostly focus on) the first two characters at the beginning are Lux and Garen, they are brother and sister. They live in a place called demacia where mages are outlawed and still we see Lux call the scepter a shoot a beam of light into the sky to save her brother from Sylas (the chain guy) . That giant that came from the sky after is named Galio and Galio is attracted to large amounts of magic (which is why he arrived after Lux shot her ult off into the sky) and even though he's basically a giant mage hunter he has a moral compass so he knows Lux isnt the one he's hunting but is instead helping, and he's entirely made of a material that absorbs magic (happens to be the same material Sylas' chains are made of which is why he absorbed and used the magic from Garens sword)
Not sure if anyone pointed it out to you, but this Kai'Sa (battle angel looking girl) is also part of KDA. She is the one with "after effect moving" in popstars. Both videos also showcase her ability to shoot missiles from those levitating things above her shoulders. :)
if u know the back story behind the knights its even cooler because magic is forbidden in their kingdom but the generals sister is secretly a mage and she revealed herself to help his brother
My theory is they didn't put a falling transition on the falling sniper lady because they wanted to show the gloved lady's face and emotion before changing scene. Like when she falls, the shot lingers a long second on her and how she reacts. Probably a bit of a present for those who ship the 2. Also very satisfying when she hits in rythm kljdngjdf I like the cinematic even more after ur video cuz i notice so much more
If you thought the sword copying by the guy with chains (Sylas) was interesting when the Guy with the big sword (Garen) clashes with him you can see yellow essence flow into his arm bands which is why he pulls out the yellow sword (Sylas steals abilities from people)

(Possibly outdated) funfact: The "Female Rocky Balboa" named Vi weighs with Gauntlets 2 tons according to some old Trivia my by the Devs. That might have changed at some point in the past that i'm not aware of.

It’s an interesting fact that there is no villain in the lore. Not even the scary purple spider things or the big green crabman. They „just“ have different opinions. For example the chain dude was imprisoned by the knights because he is a mage and now seeks revenge
i wouldn't say "no villain in the lore". For example the Watchers clearly are villains to everyone but Lissandra, which kinda makes her a villain too. Or the Void in general, which wants to devour everything and make it part of the Void. So they basically are the enemy of all living beings.
Dragonheart you have to see it from their perspective. They were just chilling until light unfortunately the universe disturbs them from just existing in peace. It’s like when you want to sleep but a mosquito is making this annoying sound and you just want to slap it

Seems like Act 1 is introducing everyone and establishing the scene (Lux and Garen dealing with an invasion, Ezrael finding that gem and getting bailed out by Kai'Sa, and Caitlyn and Vi coming to stop the thugs from jailbreaking Urgot). Act 2 is them in a 'darkest hour' situation (Garen is knocked out and almost coup-de-grace'd, Kai'Sa is getting overwhelmed by sheer numbers, and Urgot wrecks Vi's gauntlets and grounds Caitlyn). Act 3 is the pushback (Ezrael goes back and he and Kai'Sa fight their way out, Caitlyn and Vi disable and dismantle Urgot, and Lux calls in Galio for backup before charging up her ultimate skill). Also, Vi is 100% Punk Rock-y Balboa.
about transitioning with kaitlyn falling they needed Vi's reaction as they did with the others afterwards so they can have a stronger feel to the decision making moments they all had.
You know what's the most fun thing? The "villain" on the ice fortress' scene is a man who got imprisoned out of purely discrimination in a borderline fascist nation (the "heroes"). He just wants to make a revolution and take down the monarchy.
Shacolin Nothings black and white. When writing antagonists its important to make them ether relatable or understandable. If a character is evil for evil sakes it’s a sign of bad writing. They need to be “human” rather than just an obstacle.

I think the prison break scene can "break" the 180° rule so often is because of the lighting of the scene. At each side of the room you get two completely difference lighting. On one you get the green bad guys coming from Urgot. From the other side you get the good guy natural light where Caitlyn and Vi enter from. So no matter where the camera is positioned they have the light source in the background or illuminating the characters faces. So even if you can't see the 180° you feel it because of the lighting.

Yeah, the song originally was made by Imagine Dragons for the game. I think it was 2014? It was made for that year's tournament. I love that they actually made a new version of it.
Speaking of the "Ahri" bubbles you mentioned, I dunno how I feel about it. Feels a bit too bright and doesn't cover enough of the screen before it cuts, but that's my personal taste imo.

HOLY CRAP YOU ACTUALLY NOTICED THAT HE COPIED GAREN'S SWORD!? Not one reactor, who hasn't known who the characters were before hand, noticed that besides you. If you know the characters, you essentially will noticed that they use the moves from the game - translated over to how they'd look. Everything from Vi's (gauntlet girl's) first lunge and punch (Q, followed by an E) to Sylas (chain guy) catching Garen (sword knight), lunging at him and copying his sword, (Sylas E, followed by Sylas's R) is from the game. It is interesting to see how they did that, but unless you know what you are looking at - well, I can't say you wouldn't notice, because you literally noticed. Liked.
