The Battle of Hamburger Hill (May 13, 1969 - May 20, 1969) was a 'turning-point' battle of the Vietnam War fought by US Army and Republic of Vietnam forces vs. thhe People's Army of Vietnam during Operation Apache Snow. After 10 days of bruising battle, U.S. forces took the hill, only to abandon it days later. Sniper fire was so intense, one soldier called it 'a human meat grinder.
At the same time - crawling through the jungles - Carlos Norman Hathcock II was a Marine sniper with a service record of 93 confirmed kills. Hathcock's record and the extraordinary details of the missions he undertook made him a legend in the U.S. Marine Corps. In Hanoi - torture of American POWs continues and increases.
The complete, serialized history of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War is told in this LionHeart FilmWorks original production - a multi-part documentary series featuring personal stories from veterans and detailing the battles, strategy, and politics of a war that consumed six U.S. Presidents.
Produced during the 50th anniversary of the War - we are presenting our series from start-to-finish in easy to follow shorts following this premiere episode!
For education, entertainment, enlightenment and inspiration. We hope you enjoy and even learn something. Never forget!

I really didn't know how many units were involved in this operation. It really shows the tenacity of the NVA to stand up to an assault that size with air and artillery support as well.

I worked with bunch Vietnam Vet's. None I talk to thought war was worth it. Them heavy combat Vet's was very quiet but very dangerous too over flashbacks. We need a law Politicians start a war. All there Children with no medical excuses included. All must & will hit the front lines 1st under law. This shit would stop very quickly. Watch & See. Please Vote More Wisely.

want to say to our Vietnam vets, thank you for your service. Both American, aussie, and Vietnamese. We should of never been there to begin with. The Vietnamese people are some of the nicest, hardest working people there are. Their culture should be respected and they should be able to run their country however they see fit, without outside intervention. They weren't bothering anyone. Don't ever blame our vets. When called, they fulfilled their duties and defended their fellow soldiers and American values. The only blame should be pointed at the establishment politicians in D.C. I always found it a little funny and peculiar that our Republic in the United States, which claims to practice a free democracy, and supports anyone seeking freedom and democracy, nonetheless, saw fit to invade another country all because they didn't approve of the way Vietnam was being ran...regardless, to our vets, thanks again for your service. Its a crying shame the way our vets were treated when returning home due to the fact that people couldn't see the obvious...They didn't have a choice. The only gripe they should of had was with the gov. Not the soldier. Just goes to show how many stupid people there are in this country, even more so, today.

As we were allies of France and France didn't want to give up Firestones rubber plantations we entered the war. Eisenhower sent the first troops ( advisors) in country. France left soon after. Hug a troop jail a politician.

Great video! I served as a Rakkasan twenty years ago, and as a Private had the honor of being part of the Hamburger Hill Reunion. I also met Mr. Hathcock during some gun shows in Virginia prior to enlisting. I didn't really know who he was at the time.

I’ve spent 50 years trying to forget Vietnam. Why do you want to remember that shameful disgrace of American politics and policy? So many lies. So many dead because of those lies. All the apologies in the world can’t make up for all the lies told and all the deaths of so many people on all sides of that horrible conflict. Maybe that’s the reason for remembering the disgrace of Vietnam War by America and its Allies against the people of Southeast Asia. Remember the shame, remember the deaths.
