The Battle of Khe Sanh began on January 21, 1968, when forces from the People’s Army of North Vietnam (PAVN) carried out a massive artillery bombardment on the U.S. Marine garrison located in South Vietnam near the border with Laos. For the next 77 days, U.S. Marines and their South Vietnamese allies fought off an intense siege of the garrison, one of the longest and bloodiest battles of the Vietnam War.
Ten days after this siege began - The Tet Offensive was launched as a coordinated series of North Vietnamese attacks on more than 100 cities and outposts in South Vietnam. The offensive was an attempt to foment rebellion among the South Vietnamese population and encourage the United States to scale back its involvement in the Vietnam War
The complete, serialized history of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War is told in this LionHeart FilmWorks original production - a multi-part documentary series featuring personal stories from veterans and detailing the battles, strategy, and politics of a war that consumed six U.S. Presidents.
Produced during the 50th anniversary of the War - we are presenting our series from start-to-finish in easy to follow shorts following this premiere episode!
For education, entertainment, enlightenment and inspiration. We hope you enjoy and even learn something. Never forget!

I did not join the South Vietnam Army until 1970 but I did hear and understand what happened in Khe Sanh . May God bless the souls of the soldiers who lost their lives in the VN war. RIP, my brothers !

About nine years ago I went to a rifle match in South Saskatchewan. An older gentleman came over to admire my Springfield made M1 rifle. He said he hadn't seen one in many years. He recounted he was a veteran of the Vietnam War, USN aviation technician. Based at Tan Son Nhut Airbase. I asked him about his most nerve raking time there. He said for sure during Tet Offensive. The whole base under a determined infantry attack by the VC. He said if you weren't refueling or rebombing the T-28 Skyraiders you were on the perimeter behind sand bags your rifle barrel hot from rounds expended. He said the shrapnel from thier bombs they could hear it whizzing by thier heads and shredding canvas tentage. Said it was touch and go for about 8 to 9 hours of unrelenting ground combat. He came to Canada to farm and find peace soon after repatriation and leaving the service.

That's because the democrats sucked then just as they do now. I'm totally convinced that President Johnson was a Communist. That's why there were so many restrictions. President Truman was too. The only Democrat who did anything good for the American people was FDR.

From the Rockpile we mounted up on my tank with a large convoy on 13 January. when we got hit we took about 20 dead and 80 wounded! The front part of the convoy went through to Ca Lu. It was a lonely feeling. Still think that ambush was the opening of the siege! The road was effectively cut!

What a great tribute to the Vietnam veterans. The media has never changed. We can see the same thing going on today with the Ukraine.

Where was trump at during Vietnam? Bone Spurs??? That COWARD had his daddy's doctor give him a fake condition to get out of service!!! Once a coward, always a coward! If any veteran from that war supports trump, they should have their heads examined!

Not sure what you are saying about the Ukraine 🇺🇦 situation, from everything I have seen and read the media are just reporting the situation as accurately as they can, I get the situation with the media and the Vietnam war, I don’t think the media, primarily in the USA 🇺🇸, treated the American military very fairly at all, to say the least, but I suppose that they struggled to actually see what their reporting did to the military, home and abroad, they stocked the fires of discontent in the civilian population and the anti-war mobs, to this day I don’t understand why they were so virulent in their hatred, because that is how it looked, against the military, they had their orders, like them or not, a military that doesn’t follow orders is ineffective and nothing more than a group of individuals with weapons, military personnel can’t pick and choose what wars they fight or don’t fight, that is what politicians do, they pick (usually having started them)the wars and send our military to pick up the pieces, the anger should have been ALL directed at the United States 🇺🇸 administration, primarily LBJ and Robert McNamara, but I suppose the anti-war supporters saw the military, especially those returning from Vietnam, as easy targets, knowing that they would never get any political change.

Hippies sucked in the 1960s and they still suck in 2023. They have no sense of honor, duty or commitment. They think free love and illegal drugs is a good way of life. They are traitors to the United States.

The real casualties lost in the Khe Sahn campaign is actually much higher than some statistics suggest. The battle consisted of various operations that had different start dates and different end dates, which were fought in the immediate vicinity of Khe Sahn (in the hills around the base) but are classified as separate battles.

Not to mention the US war crimes committed in Vietnam. Despite all their superiority in weapons and technology, the Americans underestimated one thing: the morale of the Vietnamese and their stamina and will. The war ended in disaster and flight for the Americans.

The US Constitution should force the Media to tell the truth. Not to be biased one way or another. This is why the American people are so divided now. Because we don't know what's truth, who's lying, etc. Freedom of Speech doesn't give you the Right to mislead the American people. If you're caught lying as such you should be held accountable for your lying. Starting with the TV show The View!

Wow! The communist Vietnamese took a pretty sound ass whooping at Khe Sanh! The Marines lost 244, while the Vietnamese lost 15,000? That is a 60:1 kill ratio. That is epic! And the liberal media was working with the communists to try to tell us that Khe Sanh was a loss? What the? We handed Giap a severe ass whooping on that one.

u actually believed the nva lost 15.000 men? lmao such bullshit exaggerated numbers (not denying that the nva suffered more casualties). Then would u believe when the nva said they killed 11.000 US men?
