I just barely and thankfully missed out on the Viet nam ordeal due to age, but have had many friends that were involved. Most that were actually in the thick of things do not wish to discuss it much, and I understand that. Sadly I know of some that blabber on and come to find out that they were never exposed to any combat situations. I’ve become somewhat addicted to watching and listening to these guys that You interview. Thank You and all that served and share these experiences.

I have a gut feeling there is more to Chucks story that is too painful for him to talk about. It seems his mind starts to go there and feelings start to build and Chuck is able to deflect before those feeling start spilling out. It happened more than once. Chuck...I admire you for what you have went thru and if there is more that is troubling you please get the assistance that's available. Walk tall sir, I salute you.

Thanks for your service. Good luck with the cancer. I've read on the internet that fenbendazole (a dog dewormer) may be a cure for cancer. I was born 1953 and my draft number was 70, but that year I believe the military stopped the draft at number 39. I wonder what my life would have been like if I had enlisted.

@@cowboyjc11 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HYILnjc_wuY.html Edmond man says cheap drug for dogs cured his cancer This is the first video that I saw about fenbendazole. My doctor prescribed an MRI when I turned 66 and told me I had early lung cancer. That's all he said, no further treatment). I did some research and saw Joe Tippens' video. I found low priced fenbendazole on Amazon. I used fenbendazole (1gm twice a day, or 1/4 tsp twice a day) for 3 months and and when I went back for a second MRI a year later, the doctor said the lung cancer was benign. Doctor also said something about scarred lymph nodes in the cancer area and he made it sound positive. Good luck.

My father was in ROTC at Ohio State with Bobby Knight. Before they graduate in 63’, my father joined the Ohio National Guard and Bobby began his coaching career at Army which fulfilled his obligation. Two years later he went to Indiana. Back then the National Guard ranks were full and my father felt very lucky to find a unit that would take him.

The best thing about the Vietnam war ...was the fact that it NEARLY ..Levelled the playing field ....Americas ...wealth ...America's MASSIVE armed forces .... America's superior technology ... was pretty much cancelled out in the Jungles of Vietnam .... so Americans learnt they were not superior men to people living in the 3rd world ... Vietnanese men fought and killed just as many Americans as u did ... Vietnam stood up to America ...and survived ...

Right comrade.✊ Now if we could just get those imperialist yankee dogs to return to Europe and promote Marxism, what a wonderful one world government we'd all have. Of course, big tech censorship and re-education camps will be needed for all the clueless rubes in that deplorable fly-over country!👎

You need to go back to Vietnam. The capital city and a couple others are modern. The rest of the country is impoverished
@topgeardel

There is an alternative, and very valid perspective to Vietnam. Those of us who resisted the Draft/Vietnam were serving our country...just as those who see this man doing it. Vietnam was an illegal war. It did not have anything to do with America or Americans. Yet, almost 60000 Americans lost their lives and there was a 10 year drain on the US economy. Many...many...veterans acknowledge a lot of BAD things happened in Vietnam. We who resisted did NOT enable our dysfunctional US Government in its erroneous foreign policy. We hastened the end of an American tragedy. Try thinking out of the box who you want to thank for their service and dedication. To resist the US Government could have serious consequences. Don't be mislead....a lot of Vietnam veterans chose to serve in Vietnam ONLY b/c it appeared to be the best option for them

For every "combat" soldier there were a dozen of other soldiers supporting them in other MOS's. As for the times back then, you would have to have lived through them. He is not your regular type soldier. We had all types. We served all over the world. We were all part of the green machine.

I don’t think he’s misrepresenting his service. Not everyone was a grunt, but anyone in country was in varying degrees of harm’s way. Just to be there was more than what many did-- which was to dodge or hide behind deferments. I’m not commenting on one’s personal decision of the time, but just being in Vietnam brought a level of danger most will never experience.
