As a Vietnamese man, I apologize to the Vietnamese women who had to do this in order to survive. They’ve been through so much hardship. Throughout the course of our history, our women served our nation well.
As a Korean man I hope these brides are treated with all the dignity of a human being in Korea. S.Korea has a lot to apologize for for the crimes during the Vietnam war and even though we overthrew our guilty military dictators, the people still have that guilt towards Vietnam on our conscience which can only be fixed by constant apologies and pleading for forgiveness, lets reach the future together! As for the brides I hope they are indeed living a better life that can support the family, and their kids go to good schools to pursue great careers!
I read about Vietnam women soldiers in school how they resisted invasion. And now I see this. Vietnamese women are so strong and brave. I will never imagine doing this. They continue to serve their family and country. Vietnamese men, love your women, protect them appreciate them be thankful to them.
My own aunt is from vietnam XD I don't know if they love each other, but they treat each other right and she goes back to vietnam regularly with her children to visit her family :)

I am chinese, when I travelled in south east asian countries and saw some young girls accompanied with old white guys, I felt uncomfortable. I think it is very necessary that all asian countries develop their own industries and education system, supplying sufficient and varied jobs to women and training them, that is the best way to change the fate of them. Some foreign losers just take advantage of the sucesses of their countries instead of their own's.
I'm a Vietnamese and I hate this too. It doesn't happen in my country only. But I try not to judge, because I may mistake a real couple who really love each other for two persons who come together with petty purpose 😅 I made that mistake once or twice, thinking it was poor girl with foreigner again. But then I found out it was a rich girl with stable job who just love the guy 😂
My friend knew a viet girl for 8yrs. Supported her family, send her sis to school every month. Bought hse. motorcycles etc. 1 day incidentally saw her Facebook. Got a shock! Photos of her hugging a man taken at several period spanning 8 yrs. 3 yrs ago she married the man without my friend knowing & still took $ from my friend.

This is total tragedy. Young viet girls marry the ugliest,oldest and unwanted men in sk. A lot of the time the men are abusive, the wife lives in total isolation and the mixed child are the easiest target for bullying in school.

I have some Vietnamese-Korean friends who married Koreans and live in my city. I have wondered why they sacrifice themselves in their marriage and come to Korea. But I know have an answer why from this news clip. I admire them so much and I hope their sacrifice shines not only their family back home but also themselves. They are such a good Korean citizen now and play a pivotal role for Korea. They share many similarities in Korean cultures and well assimilated to Korea.

Funny thing is koreans are actually moving in and taking over Vietnam. But culturally is very similar, lunar new year, harvest festival, even baby birthday picking if items etc.

Old country bachelors in Korea can't get brides, so they pay for young women in Vietnam. Koreans also think it is very bad.Few young men prefer Vietnamese women.Therefore, I hope you don't marry Korean dramas. Human rights for immigrant women in Vietnam are not good. I am Vietnamese. The problem is communist Vietnam, they ruin the country, stupid system, massive corruption, dictatorship and media censorship. That's why Vietnam is poor and no voice for the people or whatever.
Can't judge what they do but I hope they leverage their overseas money to improve their current situation. For example, start a business or do something more than just building large houses to show off their wealth. At least for the sake of future generations so that they don't expect the next generation to do the same to survive. For example, we helped our relatives in rural china and they used the money to start a small business. Now, after 10 years, they have become very successful for their kids and grandkids. They are not super wealthy but built something that they can help themselves without getting help from abroad.
From my experience seeing Vietnamese Americans it seems like a large majority of Vietnamese women are dating and married to Vietnamese men. Alot of these videos are misleading just like statistics are misleading such as average height. Wikipedia says that all Asians are short. But the tallest large groups of people that I have seen visiting the USA came from China, mainly from their northern provinces. Seemed like half of the men are 185 cm or taller and half of the women looked 170 cm or taller. While the senior citizen aged Vietnamese are mostly short in height their young adult Asian men look mostly between 172 cm to 177 cm and the young adult women look mostly between 160 cm to 165 cm. The young adult Vietnamese Americans actually seem taller than some European Americans. These Italian Americans seem like half of their male population is 170 cm or shorter and their women seem mostly under 160 cm. I am a white American man that is 170 cm and to me it seemed like the tallest Asian ethnicities are taller than the tallest European ethnicities and the shortest European ethnicities are shorter than the shortest Asian ethnicities in the USA. This wiki data seems false or outdated if it was true. Alot of stuff about Asians are false especially with this Asian women with white men. That is a very small percentage of reality but the internet will tell you that this is a majority. Asians are a large majority of the time with Asians and the Vietnamese are a large majority of the time with Vietnamese like the Koreans are a large majority of the times with Koreans and other Asians are a large majority of the time with the same Asian ethnicity.

Don't feel sorry for those Vietnamese women. The same thing happened for Korean women in 1960s & 1970s. They were 'sold' to older American men although in smaller numbers..
I think that a person has a better chance of a marriage working out if they marry someone the same age as themselves. A 65 year old man getting married to a 35 year old woman is asking for problems. Even marring a woman of the same age presents problems with culture differences. A man I know married a good looking woman from Peru the same age as he is. This woman will go take a crap and not wash her hands and will start cooking. Her family came for a visit and they absolutely tore up his very nice house. The first day they were there they broke the toilet and pulled the towel bar out of the wall. Next to go was the toilet paper holder. It got pulled out the wall. Then they broke the single handle kitchen faucet. Not realizing it had plastic components they pulled down on it too hard and got it leaking severely. The wife brought in metal chairs to the dining room without protection covers on the legs and ruined his vinyl floor covering with gouges and scratches. And when you hear his wife talk about how educated her family is. My friend is a very easy going man and he didn’t say anything but he tells me about it. He has a hard time eating with them because they dig in the serving dishes with their forks and will not use the serving fork. I will not eat at his house because his wife will not wash her hands before she cooks. Her one son has had hepatitis. I asked him if he could do it over would he marry her again and he said no. The culture difference would be too much for me to handle. Her family left him a going away present. They infested his house with cockroaches that was in their suitcases.
