Another ruined Decatur, Ga., landscape. In 1996, over objections by architects, architectural historians, and other concerned citizens, the City of Decatur built a bandstand at the northern end of North McDonough Street. The bandstand adversely affected the historic DeKalb County Courthouse and the North McDonough corridor viewshed. North McDonough Street was one of two historic boulevards converging on Decatur's courthouse square.
