Bad Dudes plot: The President has been kidnapped by ninjas. Are you two dudes bad enough to rescue the President? Vigilante plot: The Skinheads have kidnapped Madonna! Take the law into your own hands and become a vigilante to rescue her! Lol! These two video games had plots that sound like movie ideas for Cannon Pictures, lol! I can imagine both Menachem Golan and Yoram Globus actually seriously trying to make movies about Bad Dudes and Vigilante back in the day. 😂
I love seeing regular enemies falling off beyond bottom screen into upon their defeat, it cracks me up with fair satisfaction (seeing enemies normally vanishing is boring, except for some bosses). Underrated and badass beat em up scroller. The bosses: Hei, ca maw!
The fights in this game are quite realistic. You are quite agile and powerful, but you will die if you are careless for just a second in front of an opponent with a weapon.
Such fond memories of this game as a kid. I was the only one of my friends who could consistently beat the game with one coin and no loss of life. We also had a “winner stays on” rule too in the arcade to play again if we hit that target. So I’d be playing this game away for up to an hour every friday night and drawing an admiring crowd while doing so. No better feeling in the world when you’re 11. Then girls happened and life went to shit after that :)
I had the turbo chip one I didn't even know it was a port of an arcade game. Fun game if you just wanted to waste like fifteen minutes beating up on thugs.

nice job with that one coin run. That game is really tough in the arcades (and I have the Virtual Console version of the Turbo Grafx port, which is a bit easier, albeit the limited continues).

Pues porque en la máquina arcade original, como en la gran mayoría de éstas, la TV que lleva es una de proporciones 4:3. ¡De aquí que sea completamente erróneo jugar a Vigilante con la pantalla estirada lateralmente para ocupar unos 16:9!. ¡¡¡Los personajes nunca se vieron tan achatados como en este vídeo!!!
how old is this game? sounds very 80s but i don't remember seeing it as a kid, must be specifically to one country, it looks like a flash game on pc in the early 2000s, i assume this game help inspire the 'kungfu' game on nes?
this came out 4 years after Kung Fu Master, so the inspiration was the other way around (in fact, it was originally supposed to be a sequel to KFM, but that idea was ultimately scrapped before release). there were ports published in the US for a handful of platforms including Sega Master System, TG16, Commodore 64, Amiga, and a couple others i don't remember; but to my recollection, it never came out on NES (but was later rereleased in 2007 for the Virtual Console for the Wii).
