that katana must be blunt, I polished mine for seventeen days straight on a succession of waterstones finishing with a 17,000,000,000,000 grit stone made in heaven by 37 nypho

I love context when it comes to discussing weapons, and this katana test is just... delicious. As a weapon carried at all times, it had to be able to cut through a thick kimono of a civilian or another samurai. In a duel you usually wear regular clothes, and just as it was with those thick gambesons and daggers in Europe, Japan seems to have kimono and katana as a counter.

Awesome job, I knew the Kukri would perform like it should have it is on of my favorite blade styles and I have up to eight different kukuri in my cutlery collection and more to come as well. have you guys ever thought of testing any Filipino blades in your videos? All three blades kicked ass!

I would like to see a test where all three blades were sharpened to the same degree. It was clear in the paper test at the beginning that the kukri wasn't nearly as sharp as the others.

great test guys. love to see your video's. I was suprised to see what the kukori did. ow and i love the Katana. I train in Katori Shinto Ryu an i really love the sword. It is a shame soms people think as if the katana have magical Powers. it is a sword nothing more norting less. It is the person using it. great test.

I like seeing gambeson tests because it was such a common form of armor but most people seem more interested in testing against things like chainmail or cuirasses. I think it would be cool to see a lot more gambeson tests, especially against things like bows, spears, axes, etc.

It was interesting to see the different results for the katana, one-handed and two-handed. Neither of which were equal to the damage the viking sword did.
