The whole point of Vinland is the struggle to move away from violence and the negative affects of it, the reason its so action packed in season 1 was because the author used Vikings to portray the brutality of war (as the Vikings were one of the most violent groups in history). So Thorfinn a character fuelled by revenge and eventually realises it was all meaningless, so then the actual journey of Vinland Saga is Thorfinn trying to stop war at least mitigate it . That's why in the beginning Thors said "you have no enemies".
@@joyconboyz9669well you might like him if you don't connect to his character. While being a menace, he didn't like a bit of it, he said it multiple times. He was called out what he was doing was extremely wrong by multiple characters like Askeladd, Thors, Bjorn etc. He was becoming the exact opposite of the person his father wanted him to be. He was constantly murdering women, children and destroying the happiness of families. So, I don't think we should miss killer Thorfinn. If you wanna see Thorfinn fight, then the next season would have about 4-5 solo Thorfinn fights(where ofcourse he won't kill anyone but still fight)
@@nandnishrivastava5654 No I do prefer the new throfinn but I do appreciate how season 1 thorfinn might have been seen as cooler but he's a way better character and person now and I'm aware Thorfinn hated what he did w
I get it which is why i consider season 2 to be okay. HOWEVER. The goal has to be entertainment. Spending too much time on philosophy and questioning what is right and what is wrong can be just as bad as having non stop violence and action without a moment to breathe (a mistake Bungo Stray Dogs does). The key is balance. That is why season 1 is better. The action and philosophy were more balanced. Now season 2 of VS i understood why it had to be devoted to character development. But if s3 is the same as s2....then we are going to have a problem cause the entertainment value will significantly drop.
Vinland saga is based off of a real story, that's why season 2 branched off as a peace season, because thorfinn is based off a viking that was looking fit peace with his so called "enemies" hence the quote "I have no enemies"
I get season 2 wasn’t as action packed but the story did more than just made up for the action and even made me like the show more even though there wasn’t that much action i honestly think season 2 was one of the best seasons in a while
@@syx6766Honestly I loved season 2. I liked thorfinn for his character development. I didnt start watching it for some action shit that every other anime does.
@@Oxya-_- I didn't miss understand anything. In Season 1 thorfinn was a badass and it was filled with action, now he is one some dumb peaceful shit. Im not tryna see the same thing every anime where some person who is a bad ass and kills many people becomes a good person.
The thing is, Vinland Saga was never about the action, it was always about why violence only spreads more violence and what it causes. And the entirety of Season 1 proves that point. Season 2's theme has always been present since the very beginning. But of course, one can see the distinction in tone and mood. Vinland Saga is breaking the cycle of like, 80% of stories these days, and Thorfinn is a built different written protagonist that does the same. With that said, I was WAITING FOR THIS REACTION BRUUUH!!! Thorkell is a god damned beast, and yes, he was a real figure, same with Thorfinn, Canute and it's said that Leif (the navigator) was the first European to discover America. Keep up the good content as always!
Don't know why so many people dopped vinland at season 2, the story plots alongside thorfinn's insane character development made season 2 WAY worth it. Haven't seen an anime have an entire season hit each episode, Anime that have good plot with good action scenes are what these new shows need to start doing.
i agree, i lowkey ALMOST dropped it after the first few episodes, specially because of how slow it was and waiting a week for a new episode was kind of crazy. Decided to keep watching it, as im really not watching anything else at the moment, and bro the character development was insane not only just thorfinn but einar. animation quality was top notch and just alot of good things to say overall.. i had to cut off some of the intro bc of how long it was going to be and didnt want to spoil too much for people
I think season 2 is peak Vinland Saga. For me, a story is more than just its action scenes. Its all about the themes and development of the characters that make it great as well. The action is great but wouldn't it be better to get all the violence and action sparingly to enhance the story?
i agree as well, i actually had alot to say about season 2 but didnt wanna spoil or talk TOO much about it since its fairly new thats why i had to cut most of the intro out BUT yes the character development and the emotions shared throughout the season was some of the best ive seen in a while
Yeah I know idk why ppl Keep saying cap and even if he wasn’t real a person can stand around that hight and if not they can get diagnosed with gigantism and grow to be 9 ft tall so idk why ppl act like ppl can’t naturally grow to that hight
The fact that season 2 really showed us the definition of character development and reflection that Thorfinn and Canute had gone through. Made us see Aot level storytelling in 2 seasons
The only reason people don't really like season 2 is because the lack of action, not because it was bad. If season 2 was its own show it would be good.
season 2 is better tho by a lot yes it has less action at the start, but hte characterization and growth and story writing of the characters is top notch. It made sense for season 2 to be calmer considering everything that took place.
The craziest thing about that last duel between Thorfin and Askeladd, was that every fight prior to that, he was barely even using a fraction of his skill. No matter how hard Thorfin trained, even if Askeladd had an injury, he was always going to lose.
The only bad thing about season 2 is that the auther made it too good like people are gonna watch it only for the violence and action but will start to hate when it starts to focus on character development and story without understanding anything
bro people hating on season two for not being just action are wack as fuck. Thorfinn had a sick ass redemption arc and got to see his mom again. Shit legit hit last episode ngl
Fun fact: Vinland saga is actually a true story and thorfinn is also a real person. He has a statue in Pennsylvania where they first settled at so actually this show is decently historically accurate 🤷🏽♂️
its dry heat in az. if you were dying to Arizona heat you aint gonna like texas heat/humidity . im from Tucson so that heat is cake walk compared to texas
Lol 105 degrees isn’t “that hot” my ass. Stop lying, if you actually stay out there you would know how many of us still bitch about how hot it is at even that temperature
My thing is they BETTER NOT okay us on season 3 because if so they’ve completely fumbled the bag with this mid this season and the also better not play as in tht bih better not take 2-3 years if they even make another one🤷🏾♂️🥱 we’ve all seen top shows get cancelled so u never kno
Imma be honest I feel exactly what you said about season 2. That shit was boring as hell. It went from beast mode to thoughtful drama. Like bro ai get what you’re trying to do but if I want to watch a drama then I’d finish empire or smth. I tried to hold out hope but by episode 13 I got too bored and honestly stopped watching. Maybe a year or 3 from now I’ll finally pick it back up (probably not but I have done it with some anime)
Fun fact Vikings used to take their ships into the in-lands on their shoulders At FULL SPEED cus people would target their boats parked at the shore Imainge you carrying your Tonka into the hood cus some haters try to mess with it
I’m sorry but vindland saga isn’t about action or fights. The story is heavily character driven and focused, the theme and philosophy of the show is much more important than the action. Season 2 is FAR better than season 1 in terms of quality.
