I’m with you, I think it might be a bit deeper than just fun deconstruction. Like it made me think of the recent damage done to Marilyn Monroe’s dress and that scene in 27 Dresses - “That was yesterday. Today you're just some b**ch who broke my heart and cut up my mother's wedding dress.”
I like in the first one how you can see that sheer and nude striped petty coat style skirt underneath. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more pieces like that showing up since we’ve seen them in at least two collections now.
Eh. I'm not a fan of gimmicks. It looks like someone's scissors slipped and he/she just went with it and said it "was part of it." The actual garments are quite striking though.
One of these garments would be great for the 2024 met theme, since it based the preservation of clothes and beauty it would be interesting for someone to wear one of those garments for the Met in an outfit that looks like it's purposely destroyed
the thing I don’t like about the distressed pieces is the edges look too clean. like someone laser cut them. just personally I’d prefer a more organic torn edge
I just hope they're prepared to create this with different skin tones in mind bc it's great but it will suck if it only comes in that "natural" skin tone
For the commenters who love Viktor & Rolf, let's make this fun! Mention which look you would want to wear the most and where. You too, Luke! (I'm picking #2) ❤
