VILLAGE LIFE in UKRAINE, how people live 2022 

Being a retired homesteader myself it is sooooo cool to see that so many people in Ukraine have their mini homesteads(family farms) growing vegetables, fruits, and meat and egg animals, and then making very tasty looking food dishes from them. It's absolutely beautiful!!! 🌎 💛💚💙 🇺🇦

before 2014 Russia Ukraine was still friend after collapse of USSR Soviet union 1991. But when a popular movie "the servant of people" made by this zelenesky comedian , and Ukraine decide to join European union . After that Russia gone angry and make a separate moment in Donbash reason... Don't forgot that once upon a time Ukraine wass also a part of Russia, that's why 30% Russian peoples live in Ukraine in those days ,2022. All problem start when this comedian president controlled by American diplomats and want to join NATO .

I was preparing to travel to Ukraine before covid broke out to look at property to purchase but i shouldn't now cause it would be a sensitive issue to move in after all the desruction and grief and disadvantages that now exist for Ukrainians.

It's a nice romantic ideal to live off of small scale farming, but in reality it's actually a necessity of last resort, it's a poor way to live with worse prospects. As she says, thank god we are not starving. Now think some years forward, keeping that backyard farm going doesn't get any easier and the old couple certainly doesn't get any younger. As for pensions in Ukraine, work that goes toward sustenance farming does not pay taxes, how do you feel about trying to live off of income 100USD/month or less?

I wonder what people of Ukraine think of the denazification claims and gov corruption? Are they simply fearful to speak out, maybe propagandized, or is it so minimal and overblown?

This is not a war, but a military special operation. In a full-scale war, the economy would be damaged, socially significant objects would be destroyed. By the way, for the same reason, Ukraine does not strike at the territory of Russia (except in isolated cases), because this may mean a declaration of war with all the consequences that follow from this.

I saw that, too! Some of my work is in leather and that machine looked like it would be robust enough to sew leather or thick canvas. I have several old Singers that are about as heavy as the anvil I use in blacksmithing work, but I've hand-sewn leather for so long, I tend to prefer that method as the seems can't unravel or come undone.

You should visit upstate NY there are many families who live similar to this.

Yeah they have only started doing this in the past 20 years due to the locavore movement. 50-60 years ago NO ONE in Upstate ny lived off the land.

@@taoist32 most not all, my neice is doing it and she's not amish. my niece lives that way, she raises pigs, chickens etc, I do not believe in killing animals, so I refuse to visit her 'farml. it takes a sick human being to raise baby animals with the intent to kill.

I live similarly, in rural midwestern America. Not everyone is "city folks."
