Watching them eat the candies was very enjoyable but watching them sing that song at the end was the icing on the cake LOL it just made it that much sweeter! Always the best way to brighten my day is by watching these gentlemen just living theirs.

I look around me and see that I have so much, yet these amazing villagers seep great joy and give such fine descriptions of the taste of candy and sweets. I have to question myself more. I also now have a craving for candy and sweets. A beautifully wholesome video indeed.

Used to love a 'pick and mix' sweets when I was young. Some of the old type of sweets are making a comeback. Glad they enjoyed the taste. I thought Babu was not going to take part at the beginning! lol

I really like how the store picks the candies out of the container for you. everyone here just digs in with the scoop and it is really not very clean. This store is the clean way

Do you know that saying "like a kid in a candy store" ? The candy store is like going to heaven for children. It's great to see that even an old man like Babu can still enjoy the delicious tastes of candy. But these gentlemen can stop before they eat too much. Children will just keep on eating until they are sick if given the chance.

I bet that bright green ribbon was green apple flavoured. I could taste it through my screen. I love candy so much. I am fully an adult, but I don't care. I will always love candy. Except black licorice. YUCK!!

Yes I agree but Babu called it "raw mango". I guess you and I have had green apple but Babu hasn't. You have to taste it and learn the name for it, otherwise you just say what is closest in your experience.

We have our own pick and choose loose candy stores here in the US. One in particular is called IT'SUGAR. Expensive, but good quality candies to choose from.

The candy store! That was delightful. Love the looks of bliss. Poor Babu was horrified by the pork gelatin section; no wonder! That must be a problem for Jewish or Muslim customers in a shop with bins here, if they don't have labels with all the ingredients on the bins. At least packaged candies have a kosher logo on them. LOL, now I have to go look up halal labeling practices in the US.

@@mcpeguru4060 I knew he was Hindu, thanks. 😀 But not growing up with religious dietary restrictions, or as a vegetarian, most of my life I didn't even wonder about the source of gelatin in my food. I think I only found out much used *was* an animal product about 15 years ago or so. And I'm older than Babu! You'd think I would have connected the fact that meat broths gelled when they got chilled, but noooo... LOL

Pick n Mix is very expensive to buy in the UK. The best did come from Woolworths but the company closed down. You should show them how to make toffee at home, it only has a minimal of ingredients but you can add nuts and fruits, etc.

is it? i assume you go by price per kg? because in Norway the price per kg is a lot lower on pick n mix than bags. However there are a lot of candy not in the pick&mix and it is easy to pick more (kg/grams) than what is in a single candy bag when you pick by yourself so it ends up being more expensive.

The reaction to the sour candies was fun. Babu really liked the green mango strip. I didn't know gelatin came from pigs. I always thought it came from horse hooves.

There are different kinds of gelatin.

Glue used to be made from horse hooves. Gelatin is made with collagen from the hides and bones of pigs and cows. Hooves are made of Keratin, which is why glue can be made from it. Most glues no longer use it but horse glue is still used in fine woodworking. Fun fact: Because the rendered collagen comes out as almost 100% pure protein it isn't classified as an animal product by the government even though it comes from animals.

It's also used in many foods like ice cream, yogurt, frosting, fruit chews, cream pies, sour cream, cottage cheese, cheese spreads, canned and bottled soups and sauces, wine and juice. People that want to avoid it should really start reading ingredient labels.

@@adrianhempfing2042 yeah it was labelled with "VEG" above the candies they were choosing from which indicated that they were vegetarian (as opposed to the ones Babu was looking at in the beginning which was labelled "NON VEG" because of the pork gelatin)

Hindus tend not to eat non vegetarian food predominantly. While pork isn’t a forbidden meat like beef but still people in India tend not to eat anything other than chicken and goat in general. But again India is a very diverse country with people eating from every kinds of meat to no kinds of meat.
