It's called a called a poor man's lobster bc the taste and texture are similar. Please tell Raeen that people do make a cream soup called 'lobster bisque'. You might also introduce them to clam chowder (both New England, make with milk, and Manhattan, made with tomato juice) and oyster stew. Seafood is a good source of iodine, which helps keep people healthy. In areas where people have no regular access to seafood, iodine is added to salt so that they get what they need. I don't know if that is done in India, though.

Lobster is fished in Eastern Canada, tell Babu that this used to be for poor people only! It was eaten and the shells burned at night in the backyard so neighbours wouldn't know you'd fallen on hard times! Then in the last century it became popular, now it's super expensive and for rich people! Also the reason there's no bones is because the bones are on the outside - it's the shell that's the lobster's "bones".

My mother told me that when she was a child, only the poor ate lobster and she would be embarrassed to bring some with her to school for lunch. Since then, lobster has become a luxury in high demand for its great taste, making it very expensive for most people. We usually have a family dinner once every summer where everyone reunites together and boil several of them along with corn, mussels, oysters, and clams. Also, we have soups from lobster called Lobster Bisque and Lobster chowder. They are cream soups with potatoes and onion.

I felt that these gentlemen are always given tomato sauce with everything, I rarely eat lobster but I don't think I've ever seen people eat lobster with tomato sauce. I guess it is difficult for the team to source the dishes with the proper sauces, but would still love to see them experience the actual recipe, it would also be good to show them a video of the lobster meals enjoyed around the world and explain that it is usually expensive, then serve them to meal, it will give them context and help them to relate to the experience.

I agree, tomato sauce is indeed given wit most everything they are given to eat Do they not have butter? Also, it should be explained that it is expensive world wide that even in wealthy countries many can not afford it BTW the tiny lobster seemed to be breaded and fried . They could have at least have given them the. a properly prepared lobster of a normal size... and explained that they have no internal bones as the outer shell takes the place of any bones

There r many ppl in the world who r rich and who dont appreciate what they have. Its a passing fancy. Lobster was once fed to prisoners bc no one wanted to eat it. U r experiencing a new experience. U r enjoying a new experience and enjoying it. U r a richer man than those men.

They need to see the different types of lobster, langoustins, etc. Tomato sauce is not a common condiment for lobster. Best to show them video of the process of catching lobster and other shellfish and the different recipes such as lobster bisque, grilled, steamed, lobster roll. Also please explain that shellfish have no bones. They looked terrified when you presented them with the langoustine. It is obvious that they are afraid of bones.

@@timeforchange3786 I don't remember ever eating one but the most common of them available in the States is rock (or spiny, or Florida) lobster, which you can get at Red Lobster, where on one of their web pages they describe it as "only available as tails, can be interchanged with Maine Lobster in recipes, but the meat, although similar, is generally coarser, dryer, and less flavorful."

Here is something that will surprise you: A lobster is a crustacean. Rollie Pollies that you see in the garden under a rock (wood louse) are also crustaceans. Basically, you have lobsters in your garden and didn't know it... Surprise! :)

Raeen was so reluctant to taste at first, but he loved it. I laughed at first when he wanted the whole one removed. But I am the same way about fish heads! I remember learning as a child that shellfish are wearing their skeletons on the outside. That reminds me of turtles - have they eaten turtle soup?

Lobster is expensive everywhere. I live in Canada in an area with access to freshly caught lobsters, and it's still quite expensive. Snow crabs are less expensive and as tasty, but they season is short.
