Being native american, I'm half diné (navajo), we call them navajo tacos. We make them with fry bread, refried beans mixed with ground beef and green chile, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. So good ❤️❤️

Made fry bread for the first time a week ago. It's like a chapatti with baking powder and fried in oil instead of ghee. Yummy stuff. All cultures seem to have some kind of flat bread.

When native Americans were forced away from traditional ways and crowded into reservations on distant lands, the food supplied by the colonizers was different from traditional foods. Fry bread is what many native nations came up with, and is widely eaten by native people today across the Americas. And it's good. Nopales (cactus) tacos are my favorite.

I love how most cultures have flatbread or fry bread of some type, most have recipes for beans or lentils, most have stewed meat dishes, etc. The exact ingredients and seasonings will vary, but people everywhere know that certain things are just tasty and filling.

I am reconnecting thanks to my adopted family, dad is from the same blood line as I am. When my sister gave me fry bread for the first time, I was seeing heaven! I know it's bad for you, but everything is good in the world when you eat it!

This is the best "Villagers try/react" channel. The participants (not all) in some of the others channels feels kinda arrogant and rude.

It is so good to see all of you! For some reason, I haven't been watching your channel often, I think I got caught up in the news about disaster and war. But I suddenly remembered and found you again. I am so glad your channel is doing well too! Take care everyone, love from USA!

This is great! I make Seminole fry bread sometimes. I learned from an actual Florida Seminole. It's so simple to make and a similar to beignets. But with fry bread you can eat it with anything.

being multicultural and fully connected globally through online competitive gaming, I am full of knowledge about the world. YET!...I haven't tasted anything but food from Scandinavian culture. These fine gentlemen have so far tasted much more foreign food than 70% of the world. That's what I call a correct way of introduction to culture, discipline and wisdom. In short: they surpass their own world ❤

What exactly would the Navajo have used to make a Taco - it would take a LONG time to hunter/gather enough seeds to start crushing between two stones to make flour?
@My2ndnephew

Corn
@NilZed1
@NilZed1 7 месяцев назад
They farmed and their grain was corn. But in any case a Navajo tack is a food of modern Navajo people as it’s in fry bread which is what they and other Native Americans learned to do with wheat flour and it includes cheese which wasnt known in the Americas before Europeans brought dairy cattle.

let me correct you: tacos are usually beef, chicken, or pork, or goat, or fish, or shrimp, or steak, or nopales, or eggs, or beans, or deer, or cheese, or potato 🤷‍♂🧐 tacos aren't exclusive to taco bell and people eat tacos whenever, not just taco tuesday 🤣🤣🤣🤣
