The best thing about these videos is that there's no annoying commentary. Just natural observational sound. Simply beautiful. Feels like I'm actual there watching it silently.
when people complain and say things like "dang, the Japanese eat everything".. um yea. they're a island country... literally surrounded 360 by water. you really think they wouldn't eat all they could from it?
Datgai Yong there is plenty of seafood eaten there as well. As for the raw vs cooked, that's just regional preference. Also British cuisine is highly influenced by other parts of Europe and places they've colonized or traveled through which is shown by their love and use of spices and meat dishes
I wonder who the first person was to look at the 'giant curvy rock' with the squishy insides and think, "aw yeah, imma put that in my mouth." A much braver soul than I, that's for certain.
@@alban4220 that’s how I feel about all the foods in all the countries. If the eat it and are still alive, that’s all that matters. Yep, one day we going to be searching for food everywhere and everywhere. Grocery stores coming up short with lots of necessities & foods.
Being born and raised in the west in often find it fascinating eating habits of our eastern neighbors. My girlfriend is from Vietnam, as a result I've been eating Asian food that I would've never thought I'd enjoy. I never thought I'd enjoy seaweed as much as I do. Honestly, it made me realize how much healthier Asian food appears to be. Although I love big fat burgers and authentic Latin American food, I can't help but to also crave Asian foods I can't even pronounce properly.
Looks mouthwatering! Would love to see the chef or diner enjoying eating it, too. Also agree loving these vids for the lack of annoying background music, as well. 🐚😎🤗
Although I have questions about what parts he was cooking up, especially that grayish ball looking thing he fried, I think it’s awesome that you pay $100 and you get three separate delicacy dishes using all parts of the giant clam. Amazing and SO delicious looking! OMG I LOVE SEA FOOD! 🥰😁👏😃
It’s the adductor muscle. It opens and closes the shell! It’s the most sought after part of the clam and the reason why it’s almost extinct from over fishing.
@@jimmymars1249 Oh I don’t know how many grams my friend. But i believe he said he bought the clam or you can buy the clam from a fish market for 100 bucks. Not sure if that is the US dollar or something else.
I love the videos from this channel. Whoever makes these does an AMAZING job of really showing the close-ups of the food once its done. You guys can literally make anything look Delicious!!
This clam is so fresh and delicious. I live near at the beach and fishing is my family's livelihood eversince and eating fresh clam is one of my favorite.
Epi Start er American way of thinking I’m sure they do get the shell. But in America you overeat .... everything is super sized smh Hence why America is that most obese and the most fat country in the world...
II Profound II Don't know why americans and obesity came up since this is about the shell and I don't know if you're saying I'm American but the least I just want to say is that I'm not American
II Profound II You’re pretty ignorant for jumping to conclusions that he is American lol Don’t expect a whole ass nation to have the same greedy mentality
I absolutely adore these videos and binge watch them when I get the chance. My only request would be for there to be "closed captioning," but it would just be labeling all of the ingredients being used in each dish, because there are times I am like "What the heck IS that?"
In my country (Indonesia) it's already been protected by the government. I'm pretty sure it's the same kind of shellfish but here we call it "kima". It's pretty cool seeing other countries cook them.i wonder what it tastes like..
I looked up a bit on these. Many places farm these. It can take 10 years for one to be large enough to be safe in a reef ( too big to be eaten) they can live 100 years... Wow amazing
I was raised in the northeast of the US and have been eating raw clams and oysters all my life. Rather popular there. Raw seafood is not just a Japanese thing, although nobody does it better than they do.
I think people who think that way never live near sea. I'm not in Japan but I eat seafood all my life. I think it's common thing since it's easier to get clamps and seafood compare to poultry meat.
my dad always talked about how he ate raw clams growing up... but we live in Pennsylvania which is too much mountain for clams but we eat a lot of fish like bass and trout (i think)... though we dont eat as much fish anymore because its hard for him to go out to find a fishing spot
RU-vid is full of keyboard warrior. Those people who comment shit probably spent their life eating fast food and the most exotic food they have ever had was probably chicken nugget.
Sum up of the comments: WeE pOoR cLaM wEeEe 80% Looks tasty 10% CAN I KEEP THE SHELL!? 10% Edit: some peeps say that it’s such a huge animal but not much meat what a waste, THE SHELL IS NOT AN ANIMAL BUFOONS.
Clams are excellent filter feeders. They draw water into their bodies, filter out microscopic particles, algae, and organic matter, and release clean water back into the environment. This process helps to maintain water clarity, remove excess nutrients, and improve water quality.
i miss eating this. this actually tastes really good if you make it into salad or we call it "kinilaw". this is more common in provincial area. it can get expensive in the city
Ummmmmmmyyyy!!! I’d travel for this!! Chopsticks are great, although, have you ever seen a farmer using pool cues? This is the best street meat ever. Respect!
