This was Ville's low point, when he was seriously addicted to alcohol and had just broken up with his girlfriend at the time. He was drinking so heavily at this time, that he was both shitting and puking blood at one point and you can tell just by looking at him, that he's not well. Thank god HIM's manager Seppo Vesterinen got him to rehab, otherwise we may have lost Ville.

I love this slightly drunken-smoked voice, the tainted lifestyle makes a more complex self-expression. I don't think he looks terrible, but an old hand at life. Rehab made him another man, but not definitely better. To be clear is to lose some special abilities of art. Soever, he's an intelligent great musician, with or without intoxication.

Drugs can be a means of breaking this lockdown. But all too often they destroy people. I mean less the physical, but primarily the mental aspect. Villes desperation, which I feel in this interview, hurts my soul. He literally seems to have ended because he didn't find the things he was looking for in his music and his life.
