Always loved this song, it tugs your heart. That second verse though since losing my 12 year old grandson in January of this year, it has taken on a whole new meaning and heartache ❤

Gosh Darn! If you stop a song mid-word, give it a little bit of a bump backward when you start it again. You missed what is arguably the most heartening line of the song.

Yes! So frustrating when reactors pause and then don’t back up a few seconds when restarting. And why not just pause when there’s a natural pause by the singer? I also would pay to find a reactor who just listens to the song first and THEN renders their thoughts of it at the end.

Great choice Chuey's Momma! They harmonize so beautifully. These are all phenomenal artists on their own. Damn, this hits me so hard every time I heard it. 😢 It has the ability to bring some sort of solace. It does for me. I completely understand BP1. If I wasn't personally affected it wouldn't be something I would listen to multiple times regardless of how beautiful it is. Vince is married to Amy Grant another singer they've done some very nice duets together. He also does a duet with Carrie Underwood (live)doing How Great Thou Art which is vocally mind blowing. Carrie's got a serious set of pipes you didn't witness in the song you guys previously did.

Vince is also a great guitarist in addition to his great vocals. Ricky is big in bluegrass as is Alison, whose voice is angelic. I just click on your country reactions. I know you'll come around.

The first verse was written for Keith Whitley, a fellow country singer, that references lines from his songs. Later his brother pasted and he finished the song. Nice reaction.

Vince Gill is exceptional musician who turned down joining Dire Straits before he hit it big and is Touring and preforming With the Eagles (not warming up), he is still doing his own stuff on the side.

Oh B1, I only meant you would appreciate the talent and acoustic aspect. B2, I figured the words and sentiment would be up your alley. I knew the delivery isn't you alls bag but it is a good song. Thanks for giving it a go! I hope to get caught up more, it has been busy here at Chuey's pad, he actually has been having some scary eye problems 😢. To and from the vet, meds 2x a day. They want to do an MRI or CAT scan to see if there's a brain tumor, but at $2500.00 there's no way 😢. BUT his doctor is doing everything she can and is very compassionate. His life quality is still good, he is adjusting to not seeing out of that eye but it's scary and I have been worried and sad. He has fallen trying to get in his chair, bumping into things and so forth. He is my baby.............

I have heard this song at sooooooooo many funerals. It isn't something you put on your playlist. LOL Vince has the voice of an angel, as does Allison. Ricky has a nice voice too, but much of his own stuff is Bluegrass, which is not my favorite. Only in small doses, although Ricky has song great tunes too.

As incredible as this performance is, it doesn’t scratch the surface of the talents of these three, especially Vince Gill. He’s one of the greatest country artists of all time and one of the best guitarists on the planet. Those scores make me question your taste levels. 😬 But maybe it’s just the exchange rate.

Vince originally wrote this for country star Keith Whitley but couldn't finish it. He eventually finished it when his brother passed away. VINCE IS NOW TOURING WITH the Eagles. When Vince sang this at George Jones memorial service he broke down and Allison was there to comfort him. Allison has won 27 Grammys. She has recorded with many many different artists, and the list is too long to name everyone. Barry Gibb, Brad Paisley, Andrea Bocelli, Richard Marx, James Taylor, Johnny Mathis. She and Plant won 5 Grammys for their duets.
