His fluency in Portuguese is remarkable and it is curious and at the same time a pleasant surprise to hear him say the word "caraca", a typically carioca slang term for "gosh". On two different occasions I passed him on the famous Copacabana promenade, a neighborhood where he is a frequent visitor. I always remember his leading role in the French film "The Monk", in one of his most stupendous great performances. Congratulations Vincent!
French is obviously his strongest since he is French, but among the languages he had to learn, I'd say English and Portuguese sound his most comfortable, followed by Italian (though he was very young in this clip, and he married Monica Bellucci, so he probably picked up a lot on Italian), and Spanish is his weakest. You can hear that he bases a lot of his Spanish from Italian. At 1:03 "El mio mondo...sempre," when in Spanish it should be "Mi mundo...siempre," as well as 1:10 "Penso che" when it is "Pienso que." Also, he pronounces "cinema" the Portuguese way 1:08, indicating he definitely feels more comfortable with Portuguese, as well as Italian. His Brazilian Portuguese pronunciation was really good. I believe French people have an advantage when it comes to the nasal sounds and the uvular R of Portuguese, which Spanish and Italian speakers would struggle.
My dream is to speak all of these languages. I speak Portuguese and English, and I dabble with these other three. When you know a Latin language, it’s easier to pick on the other ones. But mostly understanding, associating words, inferring what a word might be, because each one has their phonetics, expressions, etc. It’s still a difference language. But Cassel is nailing it!

I am really surprised about Portuguese. I am Spanish and I can speak all those languages but French. He does all very well. Some people have the talent for languages.
I am very inpressed; speaking english, french and portuguese are far enough not to mess up. But been that good in italian, spanish and portuguese, is mindblowing to me.. those languages are so close to each other... wow.
In fact, his spanish is the weakest of them all and he´s clearly using italian as a base to speak spanish so I wouldn´t consider him fluent in spanish unless he has improved since that video. And his italian is also mixed with french, far from being perfect, but he looks really young there so maybe he has also improved it over the years. His portuguese is fantastic aswell as his english. In fact, he used to have brazilian citizenship during a time and he has been living in Brazil for years. Actually, he´s talking about living there during the clip. I´m not trying to diminish his abilities, just to clarify it. Like I said, I bet he has improved all of them since those clips were recorded.
Very good english, fantastic brazilian, nice italian and weak spanish, but I think he can improve it easily. French is the best but I assume it´s his mother tongue.

Un français qui se respecte et qui ne parle pas l'allemand ;) Si j'étais Européen, je parlerais 4-5 langues aussi, malheureusement, we only speak 2 languages in Canada. So at least, that's that. Almost done with Spanish also.
@@ReinedeBeaute10 Thats what I mean, its nothing impressive if a French speaker learns other Latin languages. Takes you 3-6 months and you can have proper conversations.
