Dude thank you so much for all the stuff you post. You are the best/most helpful chess instructor on RU-vid and it’s not even close. Can’t wait for the Caro Kann course to hit Chessable!
Hi Alex excellent video! Excited to hear the Caro kann Chessable is coming! I will definitely be purchasing that along with the video option. Could you actually make a video about the Carlsbad structure and make an in depth tutorial on the middle game strategies for a few of the different opening variations? You mentioned it a lot and I was curious if that could be a future video. Also a previous video you mentioned opponents going early Rc1 move is losing and never showed the follow up after the game (I’ll see if I can find the exact video) but it was a rating climb video
Caro Kann is the nuts, I especially like if I get to play the Karpov variation, where the Knight replaces the knight either to avoid the Korchnoi or Brontein variation OR do it with tempo on the bishop when he takes your Knight. Great work. Really like your easy going demeanor. Trying your short and sweet for the same on chessable. Will get the full course on April 16th. Thanks for your work Alex. 1 Love.
I’ve been playing the caro kann for 2 years now and this is definitely the best content on youtube to learn it 🤩 please keep posting videos like this alex!
Alex I too play the Caro Kann I'm 1750 and most of the time get better positions upto move 10 or move 15 but I keep loosing my advantage and losing so could you please make a video about how to continuously apply pressure in good position ?
he is our german legend i love vincent keymer! he got potential to become one day maybe top20 and yes he played caro can since from his start! his coach is peter leko great content alex and i wanna buy your london curse as well ! :)
This video got me really interested in this kids openings for the white side. I found this video to be lot clearer and entertaining compared to other creators doing these!
In game 6 Two Knights variation I used to push the h pawn once the knight landed on g3. I now see your g6 move is much better according to the engine. Seems easier to play as well.
This „ kid „Vincent knows probably almost all openings there are theoretically. He is a genius . Let alone the fact that he graduated from very intense German high school , and did chess only in his leisure time. Others , guys from china and India , etc . Start to play aged 2-4 and get trained like a machine . Great video by the way❤️
Thanks for the background info on Vincent. Sounds like the kid has a balanced approach to life. I look forward to seeing him develop as a chess player and as a man.
As White Vincent almost always played (sort of) the Reti opening and is considered as the world's leading expert on it. However, currently he seems to be playing other openings as well. He plays 2. e5 against 1. e4 and even one a game against Wesley So with it. Yes - I am German 😊 By the way, Keymer should be pronounced as English Kimer.
You really are a born teacher. You`re the best. I hope you are getting paid enough to keep creating. Paid enough, and I hope you are Happy. Happiness is important.
THIS WAS EXCELLENT. I WILL CHECK OUT THE CLIMB TOO, Thank You FOR MENTIONING IT AT THE END OF THIS WELL DINE VIDEO! VERY INSTRUCTIVE & SO appreciated, a good Day to You, .... Mike.,
IM Banzea: I played the London and the Caro Kann for many years, but I'm trying to find a solution to 1.d4, 1.c4, and 1.Nf3. Do you happen to have any opening suggestions or videos you recommend? I am looking for something practical.
I am preparing for a game, and the first game you show is interesting. But - white can and should play bf4 after Bxe2, since Qxf4 loses to Qxb7 (threatening the rook and also Qc8 mate - doesn't work without the inclusion of h3 btw, else black could play Bg4 - so Bxe2 is fine if white goes for Ne2 without h3 Bh5 included). Best is Qd7 and white has achieved what he wanted..
@@AlexBanzea when? In the game you showed? At 7:18 - after Bxe2 Bf4 is possible. After Qxb7 Bg4 white can simply take on g4 (hxg4), when it isn't mate (king can go to e2 after Qc1) - and WHITE is threatening Qc8 mate. Yes, without the inclusion of h3 Bh5 it isn't possible to play Bf4 because of Bg4, but in the game.. it would have been possible. And pretty tough because white gets his setup with the bishop on f4..
So I'm not convinced that Bxe2, like Keymer played, is actually the best variation. I analyzed the "simple" setup with Nc6/e6/Bd6 and it should be ok. Not good after Bxe2 Bf4 Qd7, but fine if you don't play Bxe2 just yet. Because: after Bxe2 Bf7 Qd7 Bxe2 if you continue playing (normal moves for white - Nd2, let's say castles, Bd6 Bxd6 Qxb7 is good for white. But if Bh5 and Ne2 are still on their spots - Bd6 Bxd6 Qxd6 Qxb7 you have Rb8 Qa6 Rb6 Qc8 Nd8 and black is actually threatening to capture the queen with Rc6 (Bb5 can there be met by Bxe2, getting two pieces for the rook and a great game), while WITH the exchange - let's stay in the game - Bxe2 Bf4 (!) Qd7 Bxe2 Nc6 Nd2 e6 0-0 Bd6 Bxd6 Qxd6 Qxb7 Rb8 Qa6 Rb6 Qc8 Nd8 - black is NOT threatening Rc6 because of Bb5 - and up a clear pawn. Soooooo.... maybe Bxe2 was a bluff? A mixup without the inclusing of h3? Keymer would have been slightly worse after Bf4 instead of autocapturing on e2. After that, it's a real nice game and setup which I hope to get tomorrow. ;)
Had to leave another comment after today when magnus played the london in the TATA Steel 2023....The question is : Learn one opening,or many? Get to the rating you want to achieve with one opening or many? Be good at one opening or many? Kamsky got i think to 2700 with the london, the most hated but magnus made is popular in 2018 again im not too sure but now he has thrown it in again. Now vincent with this.....or is it more simple than that, just play what you want.Everyone will be playing the london even more now magnus has played it again....
Alex I realy enjoy your videos I think they are incredibly instructive and I've improved greatly by your content but you have to slow down your rattle off moves at a hundred miles an hour making it virtually impossible to keep up its very frustrating. Whatch one of Daniel's views and you'll see he goes way slower and get the point across much easier . But thank you for making the videos anyway
6:57 haha "easier play". Keymer got to a completely lost position as black from there with the 2 moves you indicated. It's definitely not so simple and your recommendation will lead to a world of hurt against opponents that don't show respect, as Liang didn't dare to do with Keymer. Definitely a critical line that shouldn't be approached without prior analysis. Luckily Liang didn't realize why, as he was scared of Rxh3 after O-O and Keymer managed to trick him into a loss.
