The U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors perform “Vine Street Rumble,” written by Benny Carter.
Featuring solos from Staff Sgt. Anthony Pocetti on piano and Staff Sgt. Mercedes Beckman on Alto Saxophone.
“Vine Street Rumble” is a part of Benny Carter's “Kansas City Suite” and was originally recorded by the Count Basie Orchestra in 1960 on the album, “Kansas City Suite.”
Performed live at Joplin Memorial Hall in Joplin, MO on October 28, 2018,

It's not Benny Carter playing is it? Jazz is improvisation and as far as im concerned she could play anything.

@@MrHestichs The band is clearly trying to imitate the Benny Carter band, and if they want to be successful at that, she should try and imitate the style of a sax solo from that era. She chose a different direction, and that's her decision, but she's not playing in the style at all.

@G G First time I've been called a snowflake, especially since I'm like 50-something.....no, the solo didn't really fit with the original style, but I didn't care about that enough to actually criticize. Because tiny things like that are just that to me - tiny. That's all I was trying to point out.
