3:10 the "select button" name comes from the REALLY early NES games where you couldn't use up/down on the D-pad to navigate the menu on the title screen, you'd press Select to cycle through them. (After a couple years devs realized this was a terrible user experience and invented modern menus but then it was too late to change the name, and it's stuck around to this day - people still call the buttons on XBOX controllers "start" and "select" instead of the official names)
Fun fact, Mario actually blows into Flurrie instead of squeezing her. You can see a little yellow mouthpiece in the animation. Not sure if it’s worse or better.
That corrupted Mario vs Donkey Kong music at the start is pure nostalgia. Mini-Land Mayhem was a favorite as a kid, shame a worthy successor has yet to arrive (I didn't hear great things about Minis on the Move, the amiibo one, or Tipping Stars)
Same here. Mario vs Donkey Kong Mini-Land Mayhem was one of my favorite games I owned for my DSi along with Super Scribblenauts. I still play it from time to time. I wonder if he's done or plans to do a full corruption of it at some point instead of just an intro. Edit: If anyone knows how to get the online services for Mini-Land Mayhem working again, please let me know.
I would love to see a return to the game play style of Donkey Kong 94 and the first Mario V DK. Dont get me wrong I love the games with just the Minis but I kinda miss how it used to be.
@@t00nedd00d Locking content behind Miiverse was about as short-sighted as it gets from Nintendo. At least with the previous games you could get every level piece without needing WiFi, now you'd need to somehow hack Tipping Stars in order to do so. I would've bought it if I could have a complete level editor (would it be that hard to put out a patch that unlocks everything or something like that?)

I have a gut feeling we're probably still a ways off from that level of corrupt, but won't it be so cool to see clown vomit in something like RDR1?
