I love Vinny's delayed reaction to Paper Mario TTYD remake.

I laughed almost as hard and in sync with his fake laugh when he said "and if you own the original its a free upgrade" that joke really clicked with me lol

That's the FIFTH time a TTYD reaction has me laughing. Just the disappointed ".....shit" had me in hysterics. Never change, Booty.

The text noises are kind of a nice touch. Luigi's sound like Luigi noises, Koops' sound like N64 era koopa noises, et cetera.

Let's hope this sells well so they realize what Paper Mario Fans actually wanted all these years...

TTYD remake was such a pleasant surprise. Wish they gave something more than 2024 though but still excited.

I own the original not that hyped but thats mainly because the original still graphically holds up really well after 20 years. If theres nothing new I'll be satisfied watching a Binyot playthrough

Well.... at least paper mario fans will finally chill out about wanting TTYD on at least one morden console considering they're the mario equivalent of sonic fans

While watching the direct live, I actually considered them making a TTYD remake but figured that they wouldn't since Mario RPG is already being remade.

Holy shit... now can you imagine if this game undersells compared to Origami king? Its gonna be so over...

I really hope this sells millions so their next original Paper Mario goes back to the old gameplay. I like all the Paper Mario games but my heart will always belong to the RPGs.

Most of the direct was pretty okay, but THIS comes along and steals the show. So fucking pumped for this. TTYD is an amazing game with such a great soundtrack. The quick snippet of the battle music in the trailer sounded really good. I can't wait to play this again!

Vinny's mention of the "multi-tiered" paper look reminds me of how Sticker Star's official renders looked. a look that the game did NOT do at all and it was never a thing at any point afterward either. so its kind of funny its happening for a remake of a VASTLY better Paper Mario game.

Yeah, this whole trailer, as well as saving the announcement for last, felt like Nintendo saying "man, we are _so sorry_ for the last 11 years". Couldn't be happier. Hopefully, the game will sell well and Nintendo will release a proper new Paper Mario adventure - one that actually feels and plays right.

Nintendo has a choice to make regarding if they use the original Japanese lore for Vivian or if they use the censored US lore. Also the noose is still their, so the game looks like it will retain some of it's "edge" so to speak.

Let's hope it has a proper end game. (And an actual reason to 100% the game!!!!)

I mean, how would you get a free upgrade to the original when the original was a gamecube game? Not that I'd expect that regardless, but still.

I just realized that the reason they stopped making Paper Mario games RPGs was because they thought it was redundant to have two Mario RPG series at the same time (the other being Mario & Luigi). Yet here they are remaking two Mario RPGs at the same time. Talk about reversal in policy.

I love how the paper aesthetic is a bit more subdued for the remake. The recent ones have used a paper aesthetic as a cornerstone for most of its jokes and plot, even though it wasn't originally. The major theme of 64 and TTYD's visuals and environments is that they're pop ups, storybooks. They should have the appearance of paper but less of the paper mache stuff, more like cardstock and other materials used in a pop up book. People will be excited to enjoy a Paper Mario game that leans into telling a story first, implementing paper elements second.

I mean remakes are good but really nowadays we just want now games. Most people have access to these games already. I mostly refer to Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. Same game. Nothing new. Absolutely NO new content. Just in a slightly better resolution. Absolute waste of time unless its a really, really old game. But even at that. We need some new content to go with it. Mario RPG is a remake done good. Complete overhaul of visuals. Just too many remakes that are pretty much scamming people of money and we keep buying into it all.
