Vinnie’s first public appearance in nearly 25 years! sound goes out during first 2-3 minutes of the video but the entire interview is perfect. Link to my page: / rnrexperiencewithmike
Back on March 10, 1984 I saw KISS at Radio City Music Hall and took many pictures. I sent three to Vinnie via his fanclub and he sent me back a long, handwritten letter and an autographed Creatures pic. He's one of the coolest, nicest guys in R&R!
I love how Vinnie keeps calling everybody from different parts of the world “lovely” and him saying he and his fans are like family to him. That’s so sweet of him 🌹🌷🌺🌸🌼
NOw we know what the common factor was when anyone was in the band Gene and Paul were twats and treating everyone else like crap. No wonder everyone else drank so much bunch of idiots
Probably the most heart felt sincere words to come out of the KISS Camp for years. Took a lot of courage to come back and out like that. I never liked him before....I do now. 🤘😊
They hurt Vinnie so deeply, but his admiration and dedication is priceless! He is truly a KISS fan at heart. I have a renewed respect for Vinnie. He just seems so humble. Best of luck Vinnie, God still has big plans for you man! Hang in there! Love ya!
What Vinnie Vincent did to complicate, frustrate and aggravate Gene Simmons and Sir Paul Stanley was sick, evil and destructive. He was given the world's most incredible chance and opportunity to become rich, famous and one of the greatest guitarists for a band and he violently threw it back into Gene's and Paul's faces. 😡 Moreover, he screwed fans over by accepting their money and never sending them his last album. This demonic manipulator should be avoided at all costs. It would seem and appear both of his twin daughters should be completely embarrassed and ashamed to claim him as their father. Vinnie should go away and never show his face ever again! 👿
Wow, a lot of mean people here. Regardless of looks, Vinnie is an extremely talented songwriter and musician, and I have the utmost respect for him based on that talent. Anything else in his personal life is his business.
+Meatrockman he was the guitarist when ace and peter got fired. He contributed a lot actually. He wrote most of the songs on their best non makeup album lick it up. In my opinion their best album of all time. He is very talented.
dude, Lick it up is like among the worst stuff they ever made. How can u even say that?! The hole 80's was a shit mess for Kiss. That's Kisstory. Just the truth and nothing but the truth
Many thanks for posting this; great to see Vinnie Vincent back in the public eye. I'm happy he's happy. The guy is seriously talented ...great guitarist/writer, welcome back into our lives Vinnie x
Michael ? So many factors can contribute to his look, he doesn’t look healthy but i have also seen in my life athletic people who died at 40, life is really weird sometimes...anyway Kiss are bastards, they took people and used them, why would anyone encourage them? They are a pathetic copy of themselves
Vinnie is the coolest. My friend and I had the honor of bumping into him after an Invasion Show decades ago and he was so damn kind to us. Vinnie warmly answered a few questions and took a picture or two. He didn't have to be so decent to us two fans but he had been-- bless him. Go Vinnie!
When he got emotional talking about his ex-wife after she was murdered, I'm sure that was the last thing he'd ever expect to happen. He may not have loved her anymore, but it was still heartbreaking for him, since she was a part of his life.
Vinnie, You were and always was a class act and an incredible writer and guitarist. Thank you so much for the interviews and the great music over the years. We will be waiting for more. Your positivity is appreciated
It doesn't matter if you're a fan of Vinnie Vincent. He wasn't my favorite guitar player in KISS. However he's still an amazing talent. It truly seems like he was speaking from his heart. I truly hope he has found peace in his life. I can't wait to hear the box set!
I teared up a little at the beginning too, along with him. It's not an easy thing for somone to come out of hiding. One of the hardest things to do actually.
debgibsonfan *We don't have problems with the hermaphrodites. After all, the hermaphrodite is Nature's Original Human Being,. The problem comes in when the hermaphrodites want us to worship them and try to send us into death, which is the Sun.*
Love you in KISS, and VV Invasion! You are so loved and missed. This interview showed your wonderful heart. You are my guitar hero of all time. I'm kicking myself for missing this!! Thank you for being the soundtrack of my childhood!!!
Vinnie i know your going to read this ...you were great and welcome back and all those fotos do you wrong...f@#$ the haters they do not understand...i hope you all the best your a talent...were waiting for you in Australia now
Creatures Concert in Rio was a huge, huge Landmark in Brazilian´s concert History, we all love Vinnie Here.So Many awesome records, with kiss and Vinnie Vincent Invasion, thank you for sharing this
He really helped Kiss with his songwriting on Lick it Up and Creatures....easily one of the most underrated guitar players. Love his praise for Eric Carr ....another legend and amazing drummer.
I've always loved Vinnie Vincent. I was so sad when he left Kiss... He is a talented musician and songs writer ! I miss him, and I wish him the best ! He saved Kiss !! ❤️
Say what you will about Vinnie, he seems genuinely happy and open here and has clearly done some healing. Still one of my favorite guitarists of all time and lucky enough to share a birthday with him. Such a shame he didn't last longer in Kiss, they really could've gone a great, new, technical progression instead of the BS Kiss of the 80's we got, not bashing Bruce Kulick but Bruce was more like Tommy is now. A "yessir" kind of guy that would fall in step with Paul's direction. Looking forward to new material from Vinnie. Hope he releases something soon
I would like to thank on behalf of all Brazilian fans, for having made this video available, thank you very much, we are all very happy with Vinnie's return, and grateful that he remembered Brazilian fans
What should he say after causing Gene and Paul hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary, unneeded and preventable legal fees. Vinnie sued both Gene and Paul 14 times and he lost 14 times as well. Good riddance, son of Satan! 👿
Obviously everyone’s first reaction is “whoah! Vinnie looks different”, and then the comments take off from there. I was one of those people...all I saw was photos. The years haven’t been kind to Ace, Peter, Paul, Gene, let’s face it. After hearing Eddie Trunk’s interview with Vinnie and then seeing Vinnie walk out in this video, I teared up...not kidding at all. You can tell he wants to be back and that he’s happy. What a response! Welcome back Vinnie!!!
Hammersmashed68 *S/he looks like the hermaphrodite headed to death that s/he is. A hermaphrodite is a human being with both sexes, male and female. The hermaphrodite gene is passed through incest. The prohibition against incest is strictly a religious tenet. Vinnie {Maryland} Vincent left the band cuz Gene Simmons got the hermaphrodite role in Never Too Young To Die*
glad to see hes back in the public eye again. he deserves far more credit. he saved kiss in 82 and 83. the 2 best kiss records creatures and lick it up. honestly kiss could not continue on with ace in 82. ace was so fucked up on drugs and booze that he couldnt play. glad they brought on vinnie.
Larson, nice fairy-tale! Ace was fucked up on drugs booze that he couldn't play? What a load of BS? Stop spreading your laughable stories and lay down your crackpipe. Ace left because he didn't like the way Gene and Paul were going with the band, it started before "The Elder". Gene and Paul wanted Ace to stay, knucklehead.
Dug Revenge, and think Lick It Up kinda sucked. But truthfully the 80's and 90's were filled with hot-shot guitarists. Vinnie saved shit. If not him, another would have played with KISS, and been just as successful or more so.
Gene & Paul speak ill of anyone who chooses not to toe the line of their chosen narrative. They believe their own bullshit as they've amassed so much business influence over the years that they are accustomed to getting their way. Rich, boring, and soulless variety act that plays cruise ships. Gene probably DID reach out to VV as a result of his vault. Only to plug it, not so much for his big heart and compassion for Vincent. Coincidentally it has been 20 years since the 96 reunion. if the suits went on until 2004... its been 14 years since then. They'll never talk of specifics, but its all in the past, Vinnie deserves to be heard, he's paid his debts and I'm glad to see he's back.
Enuff with the criticism first thank you Mike for posting this for all of us who could not make this & to those who r saying shit about Vinnie now.. he’s seems very sincere & appreciative to be here & I believe honest.. all r appearances change when we get older.. look in the mirror who do criticize I’m sure u must have ur own ton of flaws...
Vinnie brought sooooo much to "Creatures Of The Night", "Lick It Up" & "Revenge"! SIX songs Vinnie co-wrote with Kiss were released as singles! Incredible! xoxo The Clarences
Would you rather be reading today that he died of cancer or suicide? Be happy he's back and willing to talk with the fans. Remember the shock and sadness people felt when Bowie, Prince, Carrie Fisher, and many others passed away. This is a happy time for KISS fans. Try not to ruin it. Your conscience may bother you later. I think this book that he mentions will be very interesting. I hope he has good people around him and advising him well. He was an exciting and dynamic guitar player with KISS and solo. I look forward to hearing new music from him.
Great to see Vinnie again! You can't argue with the strength of Creatures of the Night and Lick it Up! Two of the best Kiss albums for sure. Plus he wrote some of the album Revenge. Vinnie also at least had his own make-up and character verses impersonating Ace like Kiss does now. Everybody that's posting jokes on here about Vinnie can only dream of accomplishing a tenth of what he has done in his life. Let's bring Vinnie up, not break the guy down!
@@Sabundy You're not kidding. Their faith in this guy is touching. It's akin to battered wife syndrome. Vinnie and his fans have the most codependent relationship in the history of popular music. His fans are like the followers of Jim Jones or Marshall Applewhite. He could tell them to take cyanide and at least a few of them would do it.
People, say what you want, you're all assholes. I could care less what he looks like, I could care less what gender he may or may not be, I could care less how weird he may seem. This man was mesmerizing as a guitarist. I hope he puts a kick ass band together and shows these young bucks how to play a guitar. Dude was amazing...and you can poke fun at him now, whatever...you can NEVER take away his ongoing legacy as a genius musician and player. One of the best.
You mean "COULDN'T care less." And Captain Brandon, you obviously worship Western culture so quit insulting the "average Westerner." Wish to not be famous all you want. Because you're not.
I hope Vinnie, Meredith or Angel. can put it together, So far he hasnt, He had some hard breaks, His wife died, another one was murdered, had trouble taking care of the basic things in life..
What Ive always loved about Kiss is that all the band members speak about the financial aspect of the band and rock business. In their books, conventions etc.
This man saved KISS! The god damn band was a ship without a rudder before Vinnie came a long and brought the band back to the twentieth century.. Great guitar player song writer and entertainer. KISS would have been done finished without the help of this man.. Thanks Vinnie for being there for us true Kiss fans..
Vinnie is another one of the few true artists who had no clear direction to channel his talent. KISS gave him a direction but Stanley & Simmons wanted total control of the artistic creativity and its not something that can be numbered and bottled. At least he had the forethought to never sign the contract and as such now has some legal leverage to get whats owed to him from the KISS corporation.
Vinnie, it made me so happy to see that you were still with us. I never hated you, you helped KISS become what it is today, and I just wanted to say how much I really like you as a fan (or a friend if you want to see it that way) I was so touched by all your stories about what has happened in the past. I know it’s not always easy but I’m sooo happy that you’re okay, I know we all missed you and were probably worried about you when we didn’t see you for a long time. You are the most amazing, kindest, sweetest, person that I’ve ever seen. Stay strong, and we all love you so fucking much.
legendary guitar player. Vinnie Vincent and Randy Rhoads were real innovators in the early 80s, they saved the career of Kiss and Osborn respectively, and their music will live forever.
His original jackson double V prototype was actually built for Randy just before he passed and Vinnie modified it... he not of the same caliber guitar player Randy was but he's not far behind they're both in a league of their own... Randy had more of a classical style of playing and Vinnie was just all out shred I don't think there's anybody who could compare to either of them...Satriani comes in 3rd and I'd put Vai and Batio tied for 4th and Van Halen closing out my top 5 of greatness...
to me he was. Perhaps he didn't exactly show it in the Kiss albums, but live and specially in his work with Invasion Vinnie Vincent displays amazing guitar playing.
Great to finally see Vinnie again after all this time! Your true fans love you Vinnie. My wife is also a huge fan of you too. We hope you will release new music for the fans. We will buy your album on day 1. Greetings from Norway.
I agree. I'm not a Thayer hater at all. I just thought is was a funny comment. All the people who bitch about KISS keeping it going with dependable musicians are stupid.
I cannot thank you enough Mike Brunn for posting this video. As a die hard KISS fan, as many of us here are, I was wanting to make this event, but couldn't. Thank you so much for sharing this video and allowing us to be a part of this amazing moment in KISStory! Vinnie is an amazing human being and it was hard not to get teary eyed watching this entire interview. Again, thank you so much for allowing us to witness this extraordinary event.
It's great to see Vinnie opening up and being honest. It seems he's now into fresh air and enjoying that. Would love to hear his current music & hear how this maturity comes through creativily.
the guy has had a lot of tragedy in his life. In the mid 90s his wife was found murdered, bankruptcy followed, lawsuits over royalties, gag orders etc.
Didn’t Vinnie steal from Kiss Konventions? And a few years ago announced a concert that ending up selling pretty good but he ends up canceling last minute and didn’t give out refunds then disappeared after? Oh but Paul is the money loving asshole
He’s a living legend he’s 71 years old rock star from the USA,he’s paid his dues.I seen him in concert with KISS back in the 1980s,We was setting close to the stage it was a fantastic show and loud as hell he/they played just like the record . I am 59 now and never forget it 💙👉🏻🎸
the guy is 65 so don't expect him to look like he did in 1992. He just doesn't have the personal trainer or plastic surgeon like Paul and Gene have; but probably the same wig maker.
I'm not a kiss fan but I think it's great for those who love Vinnie and the band that he's back. Shame on those who are slagging him off and for giving the man the thumbs down. It took a lot of courage for him to come out of hiding.
Probably the best interview with a rock star I've ever seen. Open, honest, emotional and deeply moving. What a wonderful man he is. Welcome back, Vinnie! We love you!!!
After all these years, Vinnie isnt what I was expected, and I don't mean how he looks. After Gene and Paul's trashing over the years, its obvious that Vinnie isnt the person they made him out to be. They neglected to mention they were paying him barely anything, funny that. He comes across as a nice person, not the jerk they portrayed him as.
It's not just Gene and Paul, if you look at interviews with Mark Slaughter & Dana Strum (Vinnie Vincent Invasion/Slaughter) he was a jerk at that time, but people change, looks like Vinnie has changed for the better.
Feares Monkeyes ....... I think VV changed over the years, like many people. I'm not the guy I was in the 80s. I think Gene and Paul were looking at a snapshot in time. For me, I'm happy he's ok. I think he was a troubled guy, but a brilliant songwriter. He wrote some awesome riffs. And you're right, it doesn't surprise me they gave him trouble on royalties.
They went through the equivalent of a messy divorce, so it's perhaps unsurprising that they dwelt on the negatives. But, as far as I know they've always been respectful of his songwriting and musicianship (apart from maybe the solos) I think Gene's most recent comment about not working with Vinnie again was more to scotch any rumours of a reunion than anything else. As with Ace, I don't think we'll see another reunion, but maybe there'll be some interesting collaborations.
For all that Vinnie Vincent has done in his career, I give him respect and True not all people age well. So, I tip my hat to him for his interview and back in the public eye.
