Hopefully when vinny gets to ch4 someone lets him know about the new shortcut pipe that makes the chapter even shorter by eliminating a whole back tracking segment. Also the shine sprite behind the tree just before the creepy steeple that is SUPER EASY TO MISS

Multibonk humiliated Rawk Hawk on my playthrough too, I also missed the rafter phase because it just shredded him so fast. Guess it makes sense that the hawk’s weak to feet.

I think with the wrestling parallels, you could debate it being part of the heel character of the Rawk. Fans don't think he actually poisoned a cake, it's all just part of the act

27:45 Raw apples give him a reaction, but cooked apples don't? Vinny might have oral allergy syndrome. The reaction isn't to the food itself but involves a cross reaction between the food and pollen, and is usually limited to uncooked fruit/vegetables. I have it and it's exactly as he describes

Oh thanks for mentioning this! I was really surprised when Vinny said it because I say the exact same thing about some raw fruits, including apples and it's always been confusing. Had always assumed it was due to insecticides or something.

@@titania49 pineapple in particular contains an enzyme called bromelain that breaks down amino acids and proteins, eating away at the inside of your mouth and throat as you eat it. (In its concentrated form it's actually been used to remove dead tissue in severe skin burns.) The bromelain may be what you're reacting to, rather than OAS, but that's just a guess, you'd have to ask an allergenist

I know it's been said a lot of times by now, but one reason why Thousand Year Door is so special is for its showcase of exploitation, for one. Not to mention the credit card fraud, the losing of a loved one. If every Mario game were exactly like this it wouldn't be as special imo. It may be a "baby game", but it's not afraid to get real now and then.

Thats why I like the Mario RPGs way more than other Mario titles. The worlds, writing, and gameplay are honestly so much more vibrant and engaging than regular Mario games. Even Mario’s general lack of personality works in favor for them. If anything, theyre the least babby out of most mainstream Nintendo titles.

Honestly the flies thing really unsettled me the first time I played way back when. And the fact you can hear and see it before breaking the block down. Absolutely made it seem like he was dead. Kinda wish they’d kept that.

Tbh it's so easy you dont even need that, you're going from condescendingly easy to mind numbingly boring when there is no possible way to lose because you permastunned the enemy. At least the remake let the game have one singular challenging fight. Of course one might say mario rpgs were never meant to be wizardry 4 but there's no need to exaggerate the issue

I think it makes sense the game still feels fresh, the gameplay is so solid it's timeless, the pacing is pretty good, the writing is fun... game just doesn't have much that wears with age!

The overall hint is that he's sleep deprived, but is well trained. He's not taken into consideration mindgames. So he gives you a spcial condition to disadvantage you. If you can find any other way than jumping on him, the sleep deprived knight will be struggling to get back up.

I will never be able to take this chapter seriously ever again because the one big thing I remember about it from the Thousands of Doors mod is that according to the end of chapter narration, Grubba (Mr. Mr. Prosecutor Grubba in the mod) wanted to use the Crystal Star to drive a car. Despite this not being what happened at all even going by the absolute garbage dialogue.
