following on from my previous video,I thought I'd take a closer look at the Ford Bronco kit it bought,recently,from eBay. The kit has had several previous owners ,was not sealed and does have parts missing. I hope to be able to get over the missing parts problem.. I did not intend to start building this kit but following Ryan's point and that there are so few parts needed to be built to get to this ride might question ,I thought I'd spend a day or two looking at it. Thanks Ryan ‪@RPMGames‬

Nice work on the wheels and tires. Good idea for the missing headlight lens. Thanks for sharing.

All the problems with it are easily surmountable, Mike, with a little scratching.👍😃 I'm not sure what to do about front grille apart from making a new one from strip and cutting the old one out,big pain😩

I havent seen this box anywhere,so im not sure if it was rare.🤔 Other builds are similar but there seems to have been a body change. Its quite a nice little model even though it has a low parts count👍😉

A most splendid looking kit indeed Sir! I am sure with Your ingenuity with plastic, that those missing parts will be a jolly walk in the park for you Pete! No worries at all! Looking at the kit was a pleasure, Thank You for sharing it with Us all here in tubeland! I like what You have planned so far, looking forward to seeing it! Take CAre, Be Safe, God Bless Later

Thank you Russell, it's always good to hear from you.👍. I think the kit is a nice surprise,although quite basic . My biggest challenge with it is the front grille. Making a new insert will be hard😣😭🤞😀

I sometimes forget how rough these old kits are. The drive shaft is no great loss obviously because you're right there's just really no detail in it. I'll be interested to follow this build to completion and see how you fix some of these problems.

Oh,hello again. Yes,I was surprised and quite impressed by some of the Bronco parts. I am going to to do a further video on the chassis changes I'll do to it and the new props. I do like the graphics on this but I think I'll make masks and spray the design,later in the year when the weather improves 😃

Looks fun Pete. I was shocked to see the Fords twin I Beam suspension molded in two parts😊.

I've since watched a boss hog Bronco build ,it's an earlier year but newer mould with opening tailgate,which this doesn't have. Some of the parts in suspension and chassis are really nice👍. I think I'll find a tow hook for it. I really shouldn't be doing anything more to it at the moment though as I am bogged down with other builds😣😩😉

I hope to keep this a basic build and finish it later this year. I wanted to make sure the main parts were there and what's not. There's a few more differences to the boss hog kit,I've noticed but I like that's it's got different decals🤔👍😎

I'm going to do a vid in a little while which will show the adaptions I'm making to raise the Bronco suspension😀. It was quite awkward to clean the holes in the wheels as they are at a funny angle. I used three tools per hole😭

Pretty neat old kit Pete even if it’s got some dubious pieces like the grille and headlight combo. Those period decals are cool. And the wheels look wonderful drilled out. I like it.

Its a nice little kit,Kyle . It fell together a bit while I was checking the parts. I don't know what to do about grille. Cutting it out and making new grid pattern from strip would be best and fill headlamps with resin or varnish and live with them,especially if hidden behind light guard grilles🤔. I'll get the chassis built to new ride height and improve wheel clearance,then put it away until I've got time to do body🤔. I've got too many builds on the go to focus on this deeply. I'm thinking about making the suspension work,but that will take time to concentrate on it🤔

jolly ol kid in a candy store he is with this kit. lol. just gonna take a look at the parts turns into another build on the bench in an instant. might be a good thing the prop shaft is missing as if you lift it up a bit you would need new ones anyway. clear lenses aint to hard to make with a bit of clear or even just many layers of elmers white glue. roll bar bits wouldnt be hard to make at all considering the extreme details you have done in the past,, looks like you got a nice build coming along and having some fun in the process, makes the purchase worth the cost
@petesmodelcarcustoms584

Thanks Ryan. Yes I'm happy with it and it is basic and fun. The props would need to be longer if raised. The kit ujs are poorly detailed,so I'll scratch two new props anyway😀

Should be a nice rebuilder Pete, I don't think the mpc Bronco and the amt Bronco are the same kit, yours was issued as, a matchbox kit once, 😎👍

Thanks Tom. I looked at other videos and started noticing differences in this and other Bronco kits. I had no intention of building it,but with so many parts loose,it was easier and more secure to glue them together,very Hpi style

Shellac is the stuff they spray on the plastic before chroming it. I think there's some fine metal shavings in it to help it act as an electrolyte. I was looking over my old Saddle Tramp kit when you were showing yours in this video. So on mine, someone painted the interior and exterior with a thick coat of flat black paint and the wheels, dash and seats are painted aluminum. Sadly, this person didn't understand how that front axle/differential went together and, with a pound of glue, stuck part 28 to part 27 for both sides (So I have the pumpkin glued to a non-pumpkin part, then the front of the dif glued to a non-dif part). They also omitted parts 75 and just glued the whole mess to the inner wheel arcs. So I don't know how I'm going to get that apart. Engine block is also glued together, but it seems like the other parts are ok. As for the decals, mine look like new too...but I am thinking that these might be some of the first "Plastic" decals, or decals printed on a plastic style format. These kind have an issue with sticking on the model, if they are indeed the "plastic" type as opposed to the older laquer paint type of decal. Hope yours work out ok. I like how you drilled the holes in the wheels out. I might just try that. Also, did you get my Email about checking out my latest YT video?
@petesmodelcarcustoms584
@petesmodelcarcustoms584 5 месяцев назад
Wow,that sounds like your kit is a bit of a mess,Trevor, but I knew you'd be able to remember 'Shellac' 👍😎. I've since watched a couple of build videos of other Bronco kits and there are quite a few differences that make me think they are not linked . The front grille on this will be a challenge. I might invent a custom insert🤔🙁
@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage 5 месяцев назад
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Sounds good. I discovered that the messed up front axle was glued together with some kind of epoxy or something weird. The parts came apart with a little force and a hobby blade. - That being said, I am missing one of the number 75 parts. I am thinking that to raise the car up, I could make thicker versions of part 75 and add some blocks under the rear leaf springs of the same thickness. Not sure if this would alter the front axle geometry though. Might give the same "Toe-in look of a VW beetle all jacked up.
@petesmodelcarcustoms584
@petesmodelcarcustoms584 5 месяцев назад
Ive made new pads to go on before part 75,with 75 then added and same to all other mounting points by 2mm. That should raise it vertically,with no toe-in problem. I think ,with tyres being so big it should all work. Im going to build this chassis up, before i put kit away again, so I'll do another vid showing adjusted ride height and tyre clearance to body👍. I had watched your Normadie video before I saw your email. I didn't comment on it though🤔

@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage no,it's not that I didn't like it,but I'm not particularly stimulated by it. I didn't want to be negative and I didn't want my brain thinking too much about it as I've too many projects on the go already. They are very cheap here and I've been tempted a couple of times by them but it would be a big conversion I'd want to do, so I'm keeping it out of my head😣😁
